Hello,
We are headed back to DL in a few days. It is a big family trip as it is our son's 3rd birthday and our 8th wedding anniversary. My husband has planned something already for our anniversary and won't tell me. I wanted to plan something special for him.

Here is where I need your help. Every trip he gets a new pair of Mickey gloves (the stuffed ones they sell everywhere). He wears them the entire time and it is the only souvenir he wants. Minnie's breakfast is also his favorite and only dining request for the trip. I am wondering if Disney would deliver or have ready at our table, the gloves? Maybe even have Minnie bring them over for him? I was going to call Disney Dining to ask but they are closed right now and thought I would try here first.

TIA!

I had looked into doing a similar thing for DD;s birthday last year. I was told that Characters can not give presents unfortunately.

Where are you staying? You could try Disney floral and gifts.

Characters are not able to give gifts as children will not see the "behind the scene" stuff and they will wonder why the Character isn't giving them a gift also. Causes problems for the child, parents, and Disney.

Your best bet on getting a surprise is to try Disney Floral and Gifts as the PP mentioned.

You could achieve the same thinh on your own....buy the Mickey gloves without him seeing you get them. Then when seated at the restaurant, talk to the server off to one side, hand them the bag with the gloves, and ask them to bring out the gloves on a plate or tray and say, "Look what Mickey ordered for you!"

And then leave the server a nice tip! :-)

I really like this idea! I think it would be easy to give the gloves to the CM at the omelet station or the station in the middle with the Mickey waffles and the pastries. Tell your husband that you're going to get your food first while he holds the table. Then just point out who your husband is and then when it's his turn to get his food, they can put that on his tray.

That is a really nice way of doing it. I wonder if they would. Trouble is my husband is very observant. Have to be really sneaky about this.

I'm not sure the CMs at the food stations will be able to do this. They're going to be busy making sure the food is prepared and available for guests; not necessarily watching for a specific guest to show up. What if the CM you tell gets called away or rotated out of that station before your husband gets there. There is also always the risk that they'll put it on the wrong guest's tray. While I think this is a cute idea, I'm a little doubtful about how well it would work in practice.

It's also possible the health code won't allow CMs behind the food stations to take something from a guest.

I would think that you could call Disney Dining and have it arranged to have the gloves brought out (similar to having a cake brought out) or waiting on the table when you are seated.

I still think this is unlikely; at a minimum, the OP would still have to get the gloves to the restaurant without her husband noticing.

Could you just excuse yourself to the restroom once Star Traders opens and buy the gloves? Maybe put some tissue paper and ribbon in the bag you bring into the park, so you can make the merchandise bag into a gift bag.

Edit: Not sure where the thumbs down came from. I think I accidentally tapped it when typing with my thumbs.
