Will they change my ressie if I book now, and a code comes out later?

We are planning a Dec. trip, and when I called yesterday for rates, they told me that the AKL was booked for the dates I was requesting (first week of Dec.) - I need a deluxe room, as there are 5 of us. I'm a little nervous now, and am considering booking at POR or Poly. They are quoting rack rates, and I do not know if they will honor a code if I call when they come out. I don't want to wait too long, and not get the resort I want. Any experiences with this?

I made my reservations before they had released the rates for this year. When they released the rates it automatically changed for me. Then I changed resorts. Then I switched to a package, and then I switched to a code. So, yes, if a code comes out, they can adjust your rate.

Sorry, I booked my reservation before the rates were released. So, the rate they gave me was rack rate for last year. When the new RATES were released, that automatically changed. When I wanted to make the other changes, I had to call and do it.

Yes, you can revise your existing reservation if a code comes out and there are still rooms available at your resort at the code price.

We did this last year. I had booked in January at Coronado Springs. In February, a code was released and I immediately called and my existing reservation was changed to reflect the lower price. I saved about $300!! Needless to say, I was thrilled.

Like you, I want to make sure we get the resort we want, so I try to book early. I'm hoping for the same deal again this year....Keeping my fingers crossed for a code.

Go ahead and make those ressies then just keep an eye out for a code. However, it never hurts to keep trying for your first choice. People cancel all the time, so keep calling. It's likely you'll get your first choice.

I called 3x with three different codes in space of about 10 days! All were honored & the CM never gave me a hard time. All I can say was thank goodness for unlimited long distance minutes. I spent about 90 minutes total on hold to do all this!

If they'll change it 3x for me in a little over a week, I'm sure you'll have no problem changing codes 1-2x in a year!
