Will they allow you to take your shoes off on water rides?

"I tend to wear tennis shoes which are water-resistant if not waterproof...an inch of water in the log wouldn't phase my footwear."

Where do yo uget those marvelous shoes?

I tend to wear running shoes with mesh uppers, and those are definitely not water-resistant. :)

Honestly, they're just a cheap pair (less than $15) that I bought at Payless years ago, made of synthetic leather. I can't swear my socks would never get at all damp at all in them, but any wet spots would be very isolated so I could still walk comfortably all day. I guess your mileage may vary though. :)

I do have a pair of Nikes with mostly cloth uppers and those are absolutely no good on Splash Mountain or any other water ride, or even rain. :sad2:

One experience of getting my shoes and socks soaked on Splash and walking around squishy for hours was enough for me. Now I carry a pair of cheap flip flops in my tote and change to them before I get in line. Your clothes will dry quickly, but your shoes won't.

One thing I learned is to keep your feet up off the floor on GRR if you can and also do not sit by the exit. The water spalshes in from that spot. :) I guess wet shoes didn't bother me too much because I never thought to change. But I also don't go on the ride if I don't have a hot sunny day ahead of me to dry out.

We do the same thing. Take off shoes on GRR, but not on Splash. I also won't sit in the front row of Splash.

Yep. We always take off our shoes on GRR and put them and the socks in a plastic bag. Also, in January when we rode, I saw a whole bunch of shoes & socks piled up on the loading platform near the CM. Maybe just because it was cold & therefore slow, so they allowed it? Maybe it depends on the CM...

I've seen the same on both rides and no one said a word. Nothing like someones stinky socked feet hanging in your face on Soaring!;) For GRR, I always wait until I get in the boat then remove the socks and shoes quickly. I start untying before I get on the ride to make it quicker. I've come off the ride with no shoes and no one said a word to me about the fact that I was supposed to be wearing shoes.
OP - I also wear flip flops sometimes all day and night. Those are great! No worries about blisters, sore feet and getting wet.

I'm thinking we may be twins separated at birth! LOL :)

A box of these, a small roll of duct tape...lol! I'm not sure which would be sillier, although with these, it could be fun to offer them to other folks who are in line with us and watch their reactions!

Then again, the disposable flip-flops might be good, too.

Regarding the cheapy flip flops, instead of tossing them give them to someone waiting in line, then ask them to pay it forward to someone else waiting in line. :)

Oh and regarding wet shoes and Splash...oh heck yes you can get wet feet....I tend to put mine up on the hand rails at that last drop, it helps me feel safer and keeps my feet drier. lol And I won't sit in the front on that one either, they tried to put me there last time we rode it and I almost had a panic attack. :(

We just found out we'll be going to Disneyland at the end of May :cool1:! This will be our 2nd trip. Last time we just put all of our stuff in a garbage bag and we wore rain ponchos. Worked out pretty good for us. But I didn't notice there were FREE lockers. What's the scoop on those? Thanks
