Disney has added or announced a DVC component to all of its deluxe resort properties at WDW except Yacht Club. Do you think that there is a Yacht Club Villas in our future? Or do you think that Beach Club Villas is enough?

We would buy at Yacht Club in a heartbeat. We love the Epcot resorts. pixiedust:

I kind of doubt it, how much more capacity can Stormalong Bay take? I don't think they would want to take existing rooms because it's a convention resort.

Not sure if there's any room on the map, depends on how close the Dolphin is. Unless they build on the parking lot.

An overcrowded stormalong doesn't seem a deterrant.
Look at the whole picture. Each and every deluxe resort now has some form of a DVC name to it, why would they NOT cash in on prime real estate knowing how popular boardwalk and beach already are.
As I've said for upwards of 2 years now, they will do it, Disney realized this cash cow some time ago and they aren't going to stop. They will find space or create space to do it here.

Seems like a natural to me. They could move a parking lot and/or build over the canal like they did for BCV. DVD doesn't seem against building smaller resorts so they can make it fit if they want to.

Since BC is one of the smaller of the DVC resorts, I can see them making some of the Yacht Club DVC.

I don't think Stormalong would be a major factor. Agree with moving the parking lot. Logistically, it could be done.

Never say never - I think after Poly there is a possibility.

We were at WDW from Oct 5 through 13, so we were there during Gartner Convention. Much of the parking lot at Yacht club was taken up by temporary building/tents for the convention. The bus couldn't go from YC to BC the normal way because of the convention. I don't think they want to lose the big conventions.

I doubt it, because of BCV, but we would totally buy YC if they had 1 BRs. I am so annoyed about the Poly plans.

looking at Google maps, it would be a really tight squeeze to put a DVC on the Yacht Club side. There is a parking lot they could use, but the Dolphin is right there, so there doesn't appear to be nearly as much land as on the Beach Club side.

It has been my understanding that Disney's Yacht Club is the jewel of the convention crown and I doubt they would want to jeopardize this status. Moreover, any inconveniences might result in more Swan & Dolphin convention bookings.

Although anything is possible, I strongly believe that conventions will continue to keep this resort a stand-alone deluxe option. Also, I am quite sure Disney's team of economists have calculated the the potential convention vs DVC profits for the Yacht Club. If potential convention profits continue to outweigh the potential profits from DVC, then I suspect many other DVC options will appear on property before we see a Yacht Club Villas.

So was the GF... and then made land outta water..

They could certianly do the same thing at YC. I think based on the resale value per yr cost of BC, and the fact they could increase the point per night and make a small taller building, or something over water, maybe a boat house type setting. I am certain this will come to be.. possibly after WL river rapids grows, but will be 1 of the next 5 resorts.

I LOVE THIS IDEA!!! Put a cool island in the lagoon/lake with a isthmus near Stormalong bay and have Treehouse Villas/Poly Bungalow type standalone villas... it would be a nightmare of engineering, sure, but how magical... Island Villas at the Yacht Club Resort. It'd be small, sure, but they could charge a firstborn child for their use.
