I know that the current DVC offers will end soon. Will there be another discount offer to replace it? I don't keep up with the sales offers in the past, so I am curious about that. Do they replace a discount with another one as soon as it expires?
Rumored....
The feeling is that ...yes there will.....and it will probably be similar to "Friends & Family".. a newbie "must" give a members name/address as a referral to be eligible for special discounts ( because that was a huge successful promo for Disney & members & newbies) and likely to be announced with the price increase 1/15/09.
The operative word here (as far as I'm concerned) is that the price goes up on Jan. 15. If there is a new "deal" or not, you are still going to see the price increase either way.

That's my feeling..bottom line is I will still pay more for GCV than I originally hoped (assuming, of course, that the founders don't snatch up every point)
I thought that BLT points are already at $112 per point right now, but there is a DVC discount of $5 per point. Based on past history, when a discount offer expires, wasn't there another offer to replace it?
The reason I am asking is this. If I were to buy add-on points at BLT, I would probably buy 100. So, the new higher minimum add-on limit doesn't really bother me. My main concern right now would be losing out on a discount.
AKV is confirmed as going up to $112 on 1/15. No announcements have been made regarding a price increase on BLT which means it's very unlikely that there will be an increase. For the last 3-4 years DVC has consistently informed members of pending price increases a few weeks before they occur--as is the case with AKV now.
So on 1/15 both AKV and BLT will be $112.
What we don't know is what format incentives will take. Right now BLT is $5 off per point plus Developer's Points which must be used by October. I can't see the cash discount going below the already paltry $5 off, but they could offer something like free APs instead of Developer's Points.
The AKV incentive is $6.25 off (of $104) plus DPs. IMHO, the cash discount on AKV will probably increase since the base price is going up $8. Instead of $104 - $6.25 it may be more along the lines of $112 - $10 per point.
My DL guide did state that they are going to discontinue giving 2 free APs with purchase....This is a current promotion if your purchase via the DL DVC office.
