I have not seen any discount codes released for a while are the codes a thing of the past and they are only offering packages now? I'm not going until November but I like to watch the codes before I go to see how good the discounts are, just wondering if anybody knows what the deal is.

It is really hard to give a definite answer to this. We can only speculate (and that doesn't really help) Historically, there have been codes for mid-late summer and during the fall months. But this year, Disney is throwing us off a bit! The fairytale package seems to be the big summer offering, and so far, no codes for us going during that time and I don't think there will be. It is too soon to tell what deals will come out for the fall. Just keep checking back here and mousesavers.com for info.

This is just speculation but I read on a previous thread (about a few weeks ago) that someone had talked with a Cast Memeber over the phone and the CM mentioned that it's almost certain the Fairytale Package WILL be available for the rest of the year. (Novermber & December.)

If the Fairytale Package becomes available for the end of the year, I'd very seriously doubt that there will be room only codes for the public.

I'm also awaiting discounts/codes for this time frame (December), keep an eye out in July for discounts, this is when codes came out last year for travel Nov. thru Dec.

Disneyland Paris has been running a similar promotion to the FT package for the last year, and they keep extending it (from what I can see), so it's likely the same will happen with WDW. I think all the recent terrorist alerts will make people nervous about travelling, so the tourist industry really needs to blow their socks off with deals to get them travelling. JMO.

I wonder if Disney will release some room only codes to 'mop up' any empty rooms after the summer vacation season. The reasons lots of people can't use the FT package are manyfold, so it makes sense to try to target the greatest number of people possible. I guess if they fill the resorts though, they won't offer the codes.

Joanna, I think you are exactly right. Codes will come out as needed to fill rooms. I am assuming only after the FTP rooms are gone for specific time periods.

We have been going the last few years in August. We usually book room only at All Star Music. We have booked again this summer , but the middle of the month instead of the end. The middle weeks is regular price. So as of today , we have All star Movies for around 92 or 94 with AAA discount. Now i dont know if I should call back and go with the Princess pkg. It is 2 A, me and husban, DD14 and prob. DD friend who is 14. The thing is we usually do a 5 or 6 day hop. and thought we would go to Sea World this year. But is it really still CHEAPER to go with the pkg. even if we take a day off just to swim or whatever. I cant decide. But all of our trips we have never done 8 or 9 days straight of parks. Oh yeah, we have hotel 9 nts cause we take the train down so we count for trav. and stay. Not sure what to do.....

I'm going to hedge a bet on this one; I think Dis will need to placate the annual pass holders eventually. My own personal crystal ball (;) says that limited a/p rates will be made available for the fall, by the end of July. Will be interesting to see!

I live in FL and tourism is suffering. You can get great deals every where!

A few weeks ago there was a pull -out from Universal in the paper. I did not notice whether it was for FL residents or not. It was $149 (I believe $20 off reg price), so maybe it was $129???Anyway, it was for annual passes for both of their parks with NO blackout dates! The hotels were listed at $119 RP, $139 for HRH, $159 for RB. Busch Gardens and Sea World have promos going , too. Buy a day pass and get the rest of the year free and so forth. Disney has the FL play 4 until Sept 30. I have to tell you, though that Disney is losing A LOT of customers in FL to Universal. Anyone I talk to is going there this year instead. It's cheaper and "more fun" for older kids??? My niece and her friends are there this weekend with her dad. Another family I know that always went to disney are now shifting over to Universal. People down here have been to Disney sooooo many times and Universal is something new, supposedly better rides, not as crowded and cheaper, newer hotels ..... this is just what I'm hearing....

That being said, If something doesn't drastically change, I don't see that AP rates and especially FL RES rates will go away. Now it's summer and kids have off of school. They can extend the packages until Kingdom come. A lot of people aren't going to travel during High alert or pull their kids out of school just for a good deal. I have emailed info on this package to all of my Disney crazy friends in the North and no one seems that interested.

I guess we have to wait and see!!!

The current promotion has to be booked by June 29th. My guess is that the next wave of promational codes will come out after the current ones expire. Right now we have a comback rate for our Aug 29th through Sept 8th trip but hoping for a little better rate with an AP discount.

Historically discounts for Nov would not be out yet unless you wanted to book AAA or DC.

I'm new to all of this and planning a trip. How do you find out about these codes? Where are they posted so that I will know where to look? The codes are just discounts?

Thanks,
