Will the bubble ever burst on DVC resales?

For the location I marked having the most interest, it specifically asked about purchasing/owning vs. visiting and how frequently we'd visit.

I don't remember that question. Maybe because I had no interest at all in any of the sites they listed. And the survey didn't ask me that.

I think ROFR has little impact on the resale price but what it does do is prevent the occasional fire sale and it does drive some potential buyers to resale rather than fooling with it.

I think the travel market is going to bust. At least until we get some alternative fuel sources - and I think that will take decades to get something like jet fuel for the same sorts of costs. Oil prices factor into so much - food, transportation costs to get that camera made in China into Wal-Mart. Life is going to get more expensive, globalization continues to put downward pressure on salaries. Yet DVC continues to believe it can expand.

I certainly wouldn't be increasing supply in this market.

Totally agree here. We are already seeing cancellations on the cruiseline boards due to airfare, job losses, etc. That's also why I project we will see many opportunities for ressie's that otherwise would have been booked solid. Pop's and All Star sports are advertising rooms for $69/nite. Disney can not escape this economic turmoil.

It's hurting Vegas, convention traffic is down 7% so far this year. So even businesses are pulling in on "non essential" travel.

We all know what's happend to the LV leisure market.

I don't see how Disney/DVC won't be effected in some way by this. Maybe harder even to rent points.

I agree.

To be honest, I am a little shocked that convention travel is only down by 7%.
