Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

It is depressing -- after Christmas it is just cold, cold, cold.

I mean, I used to LOVE snow. When I didn't have to drive in it!:goodvibes

That sounds divine -- wish I could serve eclairs and champagne for dinner tonight.

Me, too! Right now I'm doing some oven roasted potatoes/carrots. Not sure for a main entree yet. Maybe there won't be one.:lmao:

I LOVED the Gilmore Girls. I think I cried during the last episode. It was my Tuesday night ritual. Gilmore Girls, maybe some junk food, at least one glass of one. It was my me time. I really miss that show. And I do remember green is the new pink.:lmao:
I feel even more connected to you that you used to watch Gilmore Girls! :lmao: I keep trying to talk DH into the name Lorelai for a girl but he won't do it because of that show. :rotfl: I cried and cried during the last episode. I own all the seasons except the last one, I am waiting for the price to lower a bit.

I told DH you couldn't believe that he hadn't seen Toy Story and he got very upset at me. Apparently I misunderstood him. He was referring to never seeing Toy Story 2. He has seen Toy Story. My bad. (I swear that is what he said to me, I think he is dillusional.) :rolleyes1

I love the name Lorelai, and I love the nickname Rory. However, I know my DH wouldn't go for it either.

Don't mean to start any marital *******!:lmao:

Men. My brother teases me about loving that show all the time, saying normal people don't talk that fast and are not that witty. I like to think I am.

Um, hello? Obviously he hasn't read this thread!

Ooh, cute! And metaphorically sparkly! :thumbsup2 :worship: to the shoe gods that these will work for you!

Barbies! Did you know I have a collection of over 150 Barbies (all in their box)? My issues are/were not just with Mickey Mouse!

:rotfl:

I forgot to say that I am a big fan of green as well. I really want a sage colored room either when we move into a new apartment or a house. I love sage and all greens. DH talked me out of painting our living room sage but he won't talk me out of it again, dagnabit. I could do every room in our house a variation of green. Green is the new pink, you know. Well according to a Gilmore Girls episode. Did anyone watch that?? I am still horrified that they cancelled it. :headache:

:wave2: Add me to the list of Gilmore Girls fans! I still need to get the last two seasons on DVD. I usually ask for a season for Christmas and/or birthday, but didn't for the past birthday, so I'm even further behind than usual. :sad2:

And there are still episodes from Season 7 that I haven't seen since I was antenna-only at that point and my stupid apartment complex had such poor reception on the CW that I got tired of watching fuzzy blurs that I knew had to be Lorelai and Rory (because of the banter) talking to each other with a continuous "fsssssh" going on in the background and physical movement I couldn't see. Grr.

My dream (of course) is to write for a living, but I have a romantic view of looking outside my window in the morning at all the pretty snow with a cup of tea in hand. Then I'd sigh happily at the prettiness of the snow, secure in the knowledge that I wouldn't have to drive anywhere in it.

Um, hello? Obviously he hasn't read this thread!

Seriously! People have to be witty to write that dialogue in the first place!

Maybe we could lobby to become the writers of Gilmore Girls: Lorelai and Rory Go Lapu Lapuette. :rotfl:

Though honestly I think Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel were just done with the show. Both of them didn't like the long, long hours and from what I understand, weren't happy with the direction the show had taken in the later years, which was kinda why the Paladinos got the boot.

Exactly. I just adore Gilmore Girls. I am still reeling from the trauma of the last season but I think in time I will recover quite nicely.

But when I mentioned doing that for the party, I swear to you the man eyebrow slapped me, and said "Son...I'm Captain Jack Sparrow...savvy?" all with his eyes! When he was done looking at me like I had lost my mind, he said quite distinctly, "No. I'm wearing my costume." pirate: Pirate! So there you have it. The man who appears to be "along for the ride" on our Disney vacations, who says he doesn't care where we go as long as we're together (which is true), the man who takes all my ADR changes in stride, is wearing his Jack Sparrow costume, and that is THAT!:lmao:

You could have knocked me over with a feather.:lmao:

And then, I loved him even more. :cloud9:

Love it! I always feel the same way about my costumes when I get to wear them. Why let the kids have all the fun/

So today, I ordered these bad boys.

Very cute! They look comfy and I love the color.

Whilst reflecting upon our upcoming trip, and psuedo-planning, I decided to go through the bag(s) that we typically take with us.

And I discovered something tragic!

Something horrid!

Something...very sad.

Last year's backpack caved under the strain my dears! The strain of too many outfits, diapers, and wipes. The strain of TK, will you just put this in your bag for me, and oh, the ponchos, THE PONCHOS!!!!

It's got a hole. And it's of a goodly size. Now, normally, a hole would not phase me. Patch it, fix it, move on. Sadly this hole is on the seam, and is a complete rip up the seam, and belongs to the main/largest compartment of the bag.

Houston, we have a problem. This bag is not cleared for a Pirate's Life for Three.

Dagnabit, I knew I shouldn't have been so smug about DH carrying everything.

CURSES!!!!!

So here we are. In the land of what bag am I going to take?

Now, I am totally opposed to buying something new. I am very, very hard on my bags (as evidenced by the rip/hole) and I will not be purchasing something pretty and nice, oh no!

I will be digging through the recesses of my closet and seeing what I can come up with.

Off the top of my head, the frontrunner is a DKNY messenger bag I used in college. It's got separate inner zippered compartments I can keep my wallet/girlie stuff/camera in, a front compartment that will easily fit the autograph book, pens, guide maps...ahem...scrapbooking....ahem..., and the inner pouch should be big enough for two of DS outfits, two pairs of underwear, pajamas, and two overnight diapers. And wipes. And sunblock. You get the idea. I think it'll work.

However, currently I lack the ambition to test my theory.

And I know, before you say, whoa TK, don't load yourself down like some pack mule...the reason I'm picking this, hopefully, is the messenger style is easy for either myself or DH to carry, and truthfully, we won't be carrying it that much. It'll reside in the bottom of the stroller. Another criteria for said bag. How easily does it fit in the bottom of the stroller. Because I am quite sick of hauling that backpack in and out of there for every single security check...although we're not hopping, so I guess there should be less of those.

Anyhoo :rolleyes1 that's my sad tale of woe.

Alas, dear backpack, we loved you well.

Maybe DH can still patch it. :scratchin

Oh no!!! The bag is almost as important as the shoes!!! I hope that there is a suitable replacement -- hopefully the messenger bag will do the trick!

The bag is important. So important I refuse to look at it right now.

That's how important it is. I seriously can't take more rejection! First the total debilitation of the favored bag, now having to find another one? What's a girl to do????;)

:rotfl: Just remember, there are always more bags to choose from when one decides to be too damaged for use.

Oh no! I'm on the hunt for the perfect bag - like the search for Mary Poppins it must serve multiple purposes, including be a diaper bag, pass holder, souvenir carrier... and serve rum flavored anything I wish.

:rotfl: When you find that elusive rum-flavored-stuff-serving bag, let me know, because I'm sooo getting one!
