Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

I just love your chapters, TK. They make me all warm and fuzzy inside. I absolutely endorse the throwing of the itinerary out the window, it seems like your family has had some wonderful moments when you have done that. It sounds like your DS has had some great character interactions, he's one lucky boy! I hope that you have a trip full of spontaneous, magical moments. :goodvibes

You writing that makes me feel good! And it also makes me realize that we are a family who really thrives on being unplanned on vacation. So I need to put aside my family vacation planning instincts and go with the flow. I think we'll be the better off for it.:thumbsup2

I really think you will have a great time. You are the opposite of me, last time was completely unplanned and I got so frustrated with it, that we ended up leaving the parks early everyday. I think you just have to find out what works for you and balance it all out. The TK Family will have a fabulous trip. ::yes::

With memories like the ones you have, I would throw the itinerary out the window, too!

We have no itineraries for this trip -- except which park on which day -- we'll see how that goes!!!

Okay, I am dying to know why you walked out of Marrakesh because that is one of the places I want to eat at eventually and if there is something I should know...:)

Alright, but let me say this is not one of my finest moments. And also that I should have known if I was able to walk up to a restaurant during free dining without an ADR something was wrong.

I had been looking forward to trying Marrakesh. I wanted to see the belly dancer, and have some exotic food.

Well, we were seated and ordered drinks. Then our waiter came by and asked if we were ready to place our order. He said we would need to order everything right then, appetizers, dinners, and dessert.

:scared1:

I was tired.

I was hungry.

I had no idea what I was going to eat for my whole meal all at once, and I'd never, ever had that happen to me at a restaurant in Disney before. Totally flustered, I said we weren't ready, and asked for more time.

The men followed my lead as I decided to walk. I said, let's just go get counter service somewhere, I can't do this.

As we're leaving, our waiter notices.

"What's wrong, what's wrong?"

"I'm sorry, I can't order everything all at once, I just can't do it."

"Oh please stay, it's the kitchen, I'll tell them, please stay."

Oh how quickly we change our tune.

This mutual apology between me and him went on for a few minutes and finally ended when I said, "I'm sorry, but we are not staying, and thank you."

I felt awful. I felt rude and like an obnoxious tourist but I was :furious: I had never been treated that way in Disney before, and while for some this may seem totally normally, for me, it's totally not. And let me now be a total foodie snob, but I have eaten in very nice restaurants. In the world and the World. And I will not be treated that way.

And now you all know there's a dark side to TK.:rotfl2:

DON'T mess with my FOOD! :rotfl2:

And everything happens for a reason. If I hadn't been so fed up and left Morocco, we never would have met Aladdin, never had our margaritas/counter service in Mexico, never taken a leisurely stroll around the WS and done a little shopping.

We never would have head my best night ever from the last trip.

So my obsessive requirements for find dining are a good thing.;)

I would have walked out too, that's ridiculous. I'm so glad you had your magical moments later that evening. :thumbsup2

Phew.

See, I'm so afraid my expectations were unrealistic, but I've never, ever had that happen before. And with how hungry I was, looking at that menu and trying to pick everything literally short-circuited my brain.

C'mon you're telling this to the person who pitched a fit (albeit in a small voice) at the P&PP :). I wouldn't have been able to deal with that either if I had been tired and hungry. I can't make decisions like that on the spur of the moment at the best of times.

I was afraid it was something worse, to be honest. Mini meltdown (which yours wasn't really anyway) I can understand. :goodvibes

Like you said, it definitely had a happy ending!!!

I've done that before...but I got overwhelmed at T.G.I. Fridays. :lmao: At least you had WDW exhuastion as an excuse!

No, nothing worse. Just a poor woman who suffers from lessened sensibilities due to low blood sugar.

That's true! And if I'm hungry, I cannot make decisions. At all. Period. It's become a joke in my family. Keep TK well fed or else. Well, duh. My mother can go all day without eating until dinner! :scared1: Me...nope.

I am that way too, I pitch hissy fits. Whenever I am in a mood, my mom asks me when the last time I ate was.

I can't go without food for very long without losing all sense and reason, so I can totally identify.

DH is diabetic and can't let his blood sugar drop, so we usually are on a pretty good schedule. The problems usually arise when we eat with his family who think nothing of dining late.

And you know what? You think it would be obvious that I need to be fed...like any other toddler...but no. Sometimes I have to pitch a fit to get my point across know what I mean?

JK. But seriously, I've taken to carrying snacks for me and DS. I can't handle all these people who don't have to eat, my DH is the same way. DS and I need our breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast doesn't have to be a huge meal for me, cereal will do, or a piece of fruit, but I require something. That's why breakfast buffets I usually plan closer to lunch time because I don't eat that much in the morning.

I know what you mean. DH grew up working in a restaurant, so dinner to him is 10pm. YIKES! Now, he'll eat with us if I make dinner, but other than that, he doesn't eat all day. I don't know how he gets all his calories for one day in one meal, although he does have a small snack when he gets home from work. It's just weird. But it's DH. It's fun to watch him actually eat on vacation.

Planning what we are going to eat while at WDW is one of our favorite pasttimes! I made root beer floats tonight after dinner, and all Chelsea and I could talk about was how good the root beer floats at Sleepy Hollow are and if that was what we are going to get for Spectromagic. Can you tell that we can't wait to be there???

You're so close too! Only 6...or 5 ;) ...more days!:thumbsup2

The Merrell sandals I ordered from shoebuy don't fit. They're just a little bit too small when, I walk, my little toe hangs off the edge, which is not good for me.

I am so sick of trying to find good sandals! I am ready to jump on the Croc bandwagon, but don't know what style to pick. And to boot, there's no 20% off code now. Ugh. There are other styles of Merrells, but now I have to go through the process of returning and all that jazz, and wait for another code...

tick, tock...

tick, tock...
