Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

Holy carp! Look at all of the Skittles hugs you're receiving!

It might be better, though, to hold off on the Skittles until after you're feeling better. Because that might give a whole new meaning to "Taste the rainbow." :rotfl:

If I could put the pirate hat from this: pirate: onto this:  I think we could have a new avatar for your current condition.

Seriously, I'm worried about my long-lost sister and her sweet little fam. I hope you're all ok. I had a bellyache myself last night and actually thought to myself, "If this is some sort of weird connection to TK and it saves her even five seconds of belly torture, it's worth it."

But really I think it was due more to the food they served in honor of a belated "Staff Appreciation Day". I think I tried too many "new" things. And while, as Staff, I appreciated the firm's efforts to appreciate us, my belly would have none of it.

We're here waiting whenever you're ready. Take time and get well.

Lots of DIS love. And a flower. :flower3:

Aw Macushla:hug: it's time to look after you. TRY to rest and take it easy:goodvibes

Awww. I hope you feel better! :grouphug:

Oh, no! I hope you feel better soon! Get lots of rest!!! :grouphug:

Wow! I feel so loved.

I am happy to report that we are all doing better. :cheer2:

It was a little scary for a while. DH got so much worse. I have, never, ever seen him that sick. He never gets sick. His fever was so bad he was shaking. If I even moved, my stomach hurt. I had to try to eat so I could keep ibuprofen down (if I have meds on an empty stomach it doesn't work). At one point I tried to take a shower and was too weak to finish, DH had to help. Poor DS. With two parents completely wiped out he didn't know who was going to bring him his juice by the teaspoonful! BTW, we took turns.:rotfl2:

The good news is the worst is over. Yesterday DS greatly improved. He was still tired, but able to keep some food down. Today he is back to his normal three year old self, but I'm going to take the day off from work and keep us both home. I would hate to rush back into things and make it worse. I work Wed-Sat, so I'd rather take today off and be able to do the next three, KWIM?

DH says he's going to work. I'm going to make sure he really doesn't have any more fever before we send him off though. My man...gasp...cough...cough...gasp..."No, I'm fine, honey."...gasp...:lmao:

So I'm hoping to finally respond to you all and update some time today. Hopefully we'll get a normal nap out of DS and a bath before hand because phew...we're all a little gross :scared: and then I can get in some time on the DIS.

I'm still tired, so I'll be taking it easy. Thank you all so much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. I think this is the first time we've all been sick together, and it was awful. I am soooooooo glad it's over.

Love, TK

My goodness. We'll have such wonderful things to reminisce about. And in ten years time, you can retell the story and your newly teenaged son will say, "Mom, who was that crazy woman you talked to about my throwing up on everything we own? Oh...and can I go to the mall?"

:lmao:

I have to chime in that Restaruantosaurus is the typical counter service fare. I LOVE Flame Tree. I've never had a bad meal there. The corn bread is particularly yummy. It's a good value - lots of good food for the price, in my opinion. But I've heard great things about Pizzafari too, if you're looking for inside seating with A/C. Never eaten there myself.

I'm assuming since the name is Pizzafari they primarily serve Pizza? I know that may sound redundant, but DH and I are pizza snobs. Much in the way that some people are wine snobs. DH worked at his father's pizzeria in New York much of his life and that's the best we've ever tasted. When we make it from scratch at home it pales in comparison. I can barely eat pizza out. Unless it's a flatbread type concoction. Which to me isn't really pizza. It's bread and maybe some cheese masquerading as something that looks like pizza, but can often be quite yummy. But it's not my DFIL's pizza. ;) And now you all know my shame. I, TK, am a pizza snob.
I second this. I love getting a snack here in the late afternoon and sitting at the tables by the water. However, BEWARE, the birds here are experienced scavengers. One actually sat ON my table and watched me eat. I left him a plain nacho.

Maybe if I'm lucky one night I'll get to watch Illuminations from here. If DS doesn't like fireworks, though, late afternoon, early dinner sounds nice. By the water it's so pretty. I really enjoyed it when we ate there with my DFIL last year. Of course, I had consumed about half of my slushy margarita so that may have helped. But if you were sober and say it's nice, it must be! :lmao:

I know you're in New England and sweetie, if you're in commuting distance to me, I'd happily come over and help you out. It breaks my heart to see sick babies.

God bless you! I'll tell you a little secret. Shhh....if you could go to Hartford to see Kooza (or however you spell it) you are definitely within commuting distance. That being said, I think I would be absolutely mortified if our first meeting was you seeing in my current state. However, that offer reduced me to multiple levels of sappy that I just won't be able to accurately describe here. Thank you so much.:lovestruc

Oh, and I'm puke-qualified. I was the designated mom at all of our post-high school parties. You know, around that time in your life when you think it smart to finish ALL of the Captain Morgan's? Yeah, I couldn't drink at the time (liver issues...not to mention I wasn't 21) so I ended up being the only sober one who held many heads, listened to many a spiel about how someone would "never drink again" and used gallons of disinfectant to clean. I think I can handle your DS. Although, just the puking. I think I might have to leave whatever comes out the other end all to you. ;)

I never had to deal with the puke, but I was always the sober one. Yet another thing we have in common. ;)

Seriously. I hope the TK family is doing better. Lots of love from the Tinkerbellarella household.

I would wear one for our Lapu Lapu Lovefest!

:lmao:

Okay, that's just gross. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch those commercials in the same light again. :rotfl2:

The force is strong with us.

We're here waiting whenever you're ready. Take time and get well.

Lots of DIS love. And a flower. :flower3:

DH just asked if I was apologizing to my peeps. :lmao:

I said, yes, I am. So thank you everyone for wading through the numerous descriptions of bodily functions and cheering us on to get better.

And not unsubscribing.

Because if you're still reading, here's what I have for you.

and some of these for good measure....

Glad that you are feeling better! :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2: I was worried about your family, being sick like that is can be scary especially when everyone is wiped out by it.

Thank you, hon! Now I have to catch up on my DISing! :lmao: How are you feeling today?

:rotfl2:

Phew. Being sick has made me a little loopy folks. So much so that I've had to put my normal chapter schedule on a back burner and take a little digression. Which is really another exscuse to avoid our departure day. Which I am not looking forward to writing. I mean who wants to willingingly leave the World? :confused3

Anyhoo :rolleyes1

We've had a rough week in the TK household. All three of us were varying degrees of sick at one point or another. We're all doing better in the sense that we've resumed eating small amounts of food and digesting them in normal and healthy ways.

But I'm still wiped out. And in keeping with the theme of the cessation of hostilities against my stomach, we're going to discuss how even through the fog of feverish, cramping, achey pain I was in yesterday I still managed to bargain folks. I tried my very best.

It didn't work, but I tried. Works for CharlestonPrincess, me, not so much.

As I lay on my death bed, while DH was still feeling better and taking care of me and DS, I pulled out my last resort.

My last attempt at guilting him into a deluxe resort.

See, even when I'm sick, in my feverish haze, I still dream of it, my friends.

The Polynesian hotel.

I reason that because we are spending the majority of our time at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot and that DS is still in a stroller that the monorial would be like heaven. :cloud9:

Staying in the same hotel where I'm planning to be for Lapu Lapu fest and Tonga Toast would be :cloud9: Never mind the damage Tink and I could do. ;)

Volcano Pool :cloud9:

Fireworks from the beach at night :cloud9:

Swinging in a hammock...okay, let's nix that, because I can't think about anything that involves that much swinging right now. NoPUKING.

Ah, the Polynesian. How over the past few weeks since I've lurked on the resort board (BAD TK) it has turned into my holy grail.

From my death bed, as I lay languishing in squalor, I pitifully asked DH..."DH?"

"Yes."

"I don't feel good."

"Mmmhmm." DH can see where this is headed, he's no fool and knows my lack of DISing is having adverse affects on my brain.

"DH?"

"Yes?"

"I would feel so much better if we could stay at the Poly."

"Um...no."

"But I'm dying..."

Or something to that effect. Oh, I tried. I pleaded. I bargained. :::sigh:::

It didn't work.

Somehow I was not able to convince my DH that spending upwards of $1500 more on our hotel was a good idea. Go figure. ;)

Ah, well. I put in my bid one last time. Or is it?

I still haven't given up hope, folks. I love my Pop Century. But I am loving the Polynesian. And if I could figure out a way to do it financially I would. Most likely, NOPolynesian for TK. But a girl can dream, can't she?

:woohoo: So glad you're all feeling better. I love that your DH knew what you were up to before you even mentioned it:lmao: . Well dreams do come true sometime you just need to find a cunning plan...sorry I mean mutually agreeable way;) to make it happen

You just need to find a cunning plan

Maybe Tink can help me with that. What with the feminine wiles we plan to use on Captain Jack, surely we could come up with something that makes it impossible for my family not to stay at the Poly.

DH wasn't even swayed by the Dole Whips in the food court.

Boy does that man love him some slushy coke.

Perhaps I will have to resign myself to the fact that my little family seems to love the Pop Century hotel. DS gets so excited when we look at our scrapbook from last year. And I think I will just about die when he sees the huge Mr. & Mrs. Tato for the first time. And I guess a bonus selling point is that you can see fireworks from the Generation Gap bridge. So if DS really doesn't like them, we can watch from afar where it won't be as loud.

Ah, I do love the Pop. NOPoly. Dagnabbit! But, shhh, don't tell. I still have to work my cunning. :rolleyes1

Glad you and your family are feeling better.

So sorry that your DH didn't agree to switch to the Poly.
Maybe you can try again from a different angle. I wonder if a tantrum would help :lmao:

I don't know if a tantrum would work. :lmao:

Although DH has hinted he's open to suggestion. ;)

Must be his inner Captain Jack.

I think the exact words are "Persuade me."

Which cannot be discussed here. At all.

I don't want my thread on lockdown.:scared1:

I'm sure you can find a way to convince DH that the Poly is so worth it. I was there in January and going back in August. It's such a great resort. And so convenient since your son is in a stroller.

You need to come up with a few plans :rotfl2:

THIS is absolutely hilarious.

All I have to say is this: NEVER underestimate the usage of feminine wiles. EVER. :rotfl:

Now, moving onto more DIS and Disney friendly banter - I too love me some POP Century. My fav of the Values. I think I'd rather stay there than some of the Mods or Deluxes even. And you're right, every penny saved would be worth it to see the look on DS's face when he sees the Taters.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better!

Sorry to hear that DH nixed the Poly idea.

"Open to suggestion"? All I am saying is that sometimes using a bargaining tool can prove to be effective...:rolleyes1 ;)

You know, I do make these really fabulous cookies, very easy, made with cake mix, couple eggs, and chocolate or peanut butter or whatever kind of chips you fancy. DH asked if I would make them for him to take some to work...anyone think this will help me at all?

Who's with me? :rotfl2:

Go for it doll, you have to explore every avenue of persuasion;)
