Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

Like carp, but thank you for asking. Working today was a bad, bad idea. I'm glad I didn't use the PTO, but I feel awful. I think I'll be going to bed at 8. Are you rehydrating?

I am rehydrating. Have you eaten anything yet?

I just had what I would guesstimate to be about 1/4 of a cup of cereal with a tiny, tiny bit of soy milk. So far, it's in. :lmao:

You know what I wanted to ask you?

What guidebooks do you recommend for Disney? As someone who's on the DIS and has learned a lot by being here, what do you feel was most worth your money? I think you asked this on your thread and I'm wondering what you came up with. I have some B & N gift cards, and it would be nice to have something to look forward to.

If I can interject my humble opinion even though it was not addressed to me. I love love love "The Complete Guide to Walt Disney World 2008" by Julie & Mike Neal. It has beautiful full color photos and just makes you warm & fuzzy. Her review of 1900 Park Fare made me book breakfast there. It has a lot of history and interesting facts as well. Humble opinion finished. :goodvibes

Thank you. I would love anyone's opinon on this, really. I am interested in what everyone has to say! :goodvibes

Have you ever had almond milk? It's so good. I buy unsweetened vanilla almond milk.

I love the Passporter, Birnbaum's Official Guide, and the Unofficial Guide. Those are the ones I use all the time. I wasted money on lots of other useless guides. The Passporter has planning pages, pockets, and room layouts. It's an OCD planner's dream!

I also vote for the Unofficial Guide. I buy it every year! The Passporter is the one I covet at the bookstore until DF comes around and asks me why I need another planning book.... :rotfl2:

Those three seemed to be the most popular on the web site. I've never had almond milk. I wonder if I can find it at my grocery store?

Yeah, I was surprised at the price of the Passporter. I hope there's a lot of info in that there book! ;)

I want it for the maps, which doesn't make sense because you can get them there but I still want it. Alas, I will probably survive without them and just make myself a nifty binder.

:lmao: There's no such thing as too many planning books.

I buy Diamond Almond Milk. It's usually by the soy and oat milk.

I love the info on the resorts in the Passporter. Plus, I love that you can jot everything down on the planning pages.

I love the Complete Guide -- I am so impressed by all the fun finds, information, and full-color pics. It is definitely worth having!

Those are the ones I use all the time, too. I adore the Passporter! Just adore it! The Unofficial Guide, Complete Guide, Birnbaum, and Passporter are my top pics!

I hope you continue to feel better and are soon at 100%!

I'll say it again.

BLECH!

I am so sick of being sick. This nausea/no food is appealing/constantly feeling like I'm going to puke is awful.

Sometimes all that gets me through my day is thinking about our upcoming trip. I've actually tried to start eating a bit more, it doesn't matter what it is, it all makes me ill.

One of my co-workers actually said to me, you've lost all the color in your face...you had more color yesterday! I know! I shouldn't be here! BLECH!

I'm going to lay down. Hopefully I'll catch up with everyone later.

Love, TK

Oh, no! Have you thought about heading to the doctor? I hope you get better soon!

You know, I did, but the thing is I'm still within the same time frame that it took DS to start feeling better. He didn't really start taking fluids well until day five...I'm on day four! :scared1: By day six or seven, he was eating normally. And if you'll all exscuse the grossness, since we've had it in abundance lately, this morning, he was so very proud of himself. Why, you ask? Well, when DH went to change his overnight diaper, DS said, "Mama! Mama, look! I poop brown!" Which meant he actually had a real poop for the first time in a week. After being sick, that rated very high with him. Since my gag reflex is particularly strong this week, I stood at the doorway to his room and told him how proud of him I was. :rotfl2:

Thank you.

I can try the Jedi Mind Trick on your belly.

You know when I was in college I had a beta fish named Yoda. Poor, poor Yoda. He died on my birthday. I knew he was looking sickly, and my friend and were really into Star Wars. I asked said friend over, and he very seriously attempted the Jedi Mind trick on Yoda to heal him. Unfortunately, Yoda met his untimely end, but not before I tried to taking him to the pet shop to get some help.

They offered me another fish! :scared1: Um, hello! You can't replace Yoda!

You know what we named the other fish?

Anakin.

Yoda was red, Anakin was blue. Anakin had already turned to the dark side. Perhaps I should have called him Darth. Eventually he passed on too, but not on my birthday. And do you know that when I walked into my dorm room that day I could sense that he was dead. I must have felt a disturbance in the force.

Why bother telling you all this?

In the hopes that your Jedi mind trick can save my stomach unlike the one that lost poor Yoda. Alas, I knew him well. :lmao:

Way too funny! :lmao:

I ate food!

I ate real food! And it's in! And normal, so far! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Now to resume our regularly scheduled pre-trip report programming :happytv:

Alright, so the dress that I wear for MNSSHP when I dress as Elizabeth isn't that bad!

You like pain? Try wearing a corset!

No, actually, it's quite lovely. But I've had a thought. A revelation. A trifle, really. Since they've released the pricing for the MNSSHP party tickets it occured to me...YIKES!

Now, don't get me wrong, we can afford it. And even if we couldn't, I would figure out a way to because, dagnabbit, those par-tays are so fun! Drink up me hearties yo ho!

But I'm thinking about that dress I wore last year. And although, lovely, and pretty, and beautiful, it's not very, very flexible. And it takes up a bit of room to pack. And if, gawd forbid a million times (NOZZUB ;) ) it rains again, then, oy, it's going to become a very pretty, lovely, beautiful, and heavy dress.

Once again we :worship: to the weather gods that on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party will be a dry event. But where has the rum gone? :rotfl: Summery, if you will. With perhaps even a nice breeze...but no rain!!!!!!!

So in keeping of the tradition that although I :worship: to the weather gods, I really have no control over what will happen, and I arrived at a decision.

I am changing my costume.

I know, I know. :scared1: But don't flip out yet. It's not that crazy.

See, I'm still going to be Elizabeth. Just different Elizabeth. Not pretty, dressy Elizabeth. No, no. Pirate Elizabeth. And to complete this lovely look, I'm going to use things we already own!

Now what you may ask will happen to said beautiful dress I spent exorbitant funds on? Why, I'll tell you. I actually plan to wear it on Halloween. This year, Halloween is on a Friday. Since I'll be working, I plan to take DS trick or treating afterwards in my mother's neighborhood. Since I grew up there, there's lots of folks I know, and some newer neighbors my mom is friends with, so it really is lots of fun to go there. If I take him out a little bit earlier, I can still get home in time to pass out candy at my apartment, as well. So on Halloween, unless DS changes his mind, he'll be a pirate, and I'll be Elizabeth...dress Elizabeth. Savvy?

For MNSSHP, this is the concept. I'm going to wear a very baggy white v-neck t-shirt, one I had gotten for DH to use as part of a costume one year. I think we got an XL, so it's nice and roomy for me. I will still wear the Aztec coin necklace, hence the connection to Elizabeth. If I have time or ambition I will either hunt down/make a vest. If I don't, I'll go sans vest. I'm going to wear a pair of black knit gauchos that have a scalloped edging, some type of sandal, and I'll use extra fabric we have from DH's costume to create my own waist sashes. If DH is feeling obliging, I'll ask him to make me some cool belts, etc to go with, since he did such a great job on his last year. So I won't be copying a particular movie outfit, but I'll be more comfortable, and more mobile, and so much easier to cover with a poncho...shh...don't tell the weather gods. I think I may check out the Dollar Tree as it gets closer to Halloween and see if I could get myself a fancy sword or pistol...with one shot, of course. ;)

I'm thinking this is a good plan. Even though it may not be completely evident that I'm Elizabeth. Heck, I'll just look like some pirate chick. And quite frankly, when my DH dresses like Jack Sparrow, that's pretty much what I get reduced to...some pirate chick.

Except for one cast member. Bless him. He took a fancy to my costume last year and told me where you can find the two movie prop necklaces on your way out of the Pirates ride. He actually told me how much he liked my Elizabeth costume. Bless you for flirting with me in front of my husband since you've got to be at least 5-10 years younger than I am.:lmao: Hey, it's only fair! Do you know how many ladies are eyeing my DH all night? I deserve some props! ;) Actually, now that I think about it, I was also recognized by the cast member who rang me out at the Pop when we got back that night (remember the sugar cookie). "Did you have fun trick or treating, Elizabeth?"

Ah, memories.:cloud9:

And yet again I've managed to avoid writing the day we leave. :thumbsup2
