Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

I :lovestruc POFQ. This is why we are staying there again this year -- last June was just wonderful there.

Next year I think I want Caribbean Beach with the new pirate ship themed pool. ::yes::
I can't wait to see the pictures! POFQ was where we were orginally orginally were going to stay, but the lure of good buses brought me to Pop.

I have debated this resort as well, but am afraid of how spread out it is. Would you book a preferred room? I know if I went with family, I'd have to, my nana cannot do distances at all. Maybe POFQ would be better for next year, and CBR for another just the three of us. Well, if you do that, you'll have to take lots of pictures of that pool for me, I'm doing to see it all done!

See I love wheat bread BUT I am not a huge fan of wheat hot dog rolls, only because I like the squishy white hot dog roll to go with the yumminess of a hot dog. I am not sure when they switched, but I will try to find out.:thumbsup2 I wish they gave you a choice...

Me not so much. White, wheat, whatever. DH on the other hand? If I bring home wheat bread he gives me that, "what's this carp, woman?" look. It's not pretty.

And quite frankly, I am unconcerned by the whole roll issue. It's the hot dog that matters to me. Okay, you know what, that just doesn't look right.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Now, I've made myself DED!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
There's the tag you hope you don't get! :rotfl:

I get giddy just thinking about being there again! I will be taking lots of pictures! The grounds are just so beautiful and quiet.

I would book a preferred room there -- I don't want to be 10 minutes away from the pool or food court (we always do the refillable mugs).

Another nice thing about POFQ is how compact it is -- last year we were in building 7 (the farthest building) and it was maybe (if we were strolling and stopping to count lizards) a five minute walk to everything.

I totally agree at POFQ. I noticed it was smaller and more intimate and think the setting would be nice for my as yet unspeakable birthday. I think that may even be the title of my pre-trip report for that one..."TK's As Yet Unspeakable Birthday Extravaganza"...

I am still laughing! :rotfl2:
Comedy runs in my family. As does a love of the stage. My mom and nana practically died the first time they saw me perform as part of the theater group I used to belong to. To them, I was Granddad all over again. (My mom's dad.)

I know -- I just don't know if I can wait any longer!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

You need something to do with your time.

I recommend the following...

Reread the entire Amelia Peabody series. That should take, what maybe two days?

Then watch all of the Indiana Jones films.

Then all of Pirates.

And whatever other Disney movie you can get your hands on.

There, that should help.:thumbsup2

Hey, don't worry about that unspeakable birthday -- it was one of my favorite birthdays (everyone treated me like a queen that day -- can't beat that) -- it's mine in 2009 that is looking kind of grim.

But hey, if it gains you a cool WDW resort/vacation -- milk it for all it's worth! ;)

Isn't that funny how these things run in the family? We have several traits that seem to get passed down from generation to generation -- some good, some not so good!

I am leaning towards all 3 Pirates -- I have a new cross-stitch kit that my mom gave me for Mother's Day that I could work on while I watch them.

Tomorrow, I am having book club at my house so I have to clean and get ready for that. It will make tomorrow fly by.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday may slow down again -- there is a lot of packing and laundry still to do so that may help. I have one last scrapbooking thing I would like to get done, and I have a book I would like to finish. There are also a couple of last minute errands that will have to be done.

I think I have lots to do -- it's just hard to focus for very long when my insides are screaming, "WE'RE LEAVING IN FIVE DAYS!" I have Disney ADD or something. ;)

While I was at CVS in search of heartburn relief (everyone keeps telling me it is stress related), I happened upon a trinket that I wanted to purchase for you, TK.

Are you ready for this??

It was one of this doo-hickeys that you put in Crocs....and it was....CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW. I almost bought it, then I realized, how the heck would I get it to you. Scan it and upload it? :lmao:

You know what...I'm actually not too concerned by it, but it sure would soften the blow to plan a WDW vacation to help me. ;)

So so true! Like DH and DS. Some of the same cute mannerisms, head tilts, the way they sleep...also the same temper and stubbornness...I am so going to have to break those two up when DS is a teen....wait...I do that now! :rotfl2:

Dude, that's so sweet that you thought of me! Maybe I'll have to check my local CVS and see if I can find one! Will they fit in my new MJ Crocs? Will I look like a dork? Do I care?:lmao:

There are seven of us, and we have a blast -- we've been friends forever -- long before the book club. Alas, they do not understand the Disney obsession, though. :(

That's so nice to have such a great group of friends. Bummer about the Disney obsession, though. Well, at least we're here to fill the void!:lmao:

I'm so musical, eh?

I had a thought guys...if I'm going to go to Artist Point, why not really really enjoy dinner and use the 2 TS credits. If we go to the Brown Derby for lunch, paying out of pocket there would be much more economical. The least expensive dinner at Artist Point is $24, and the most expensive lunch at Brown Derby is $20. I figure we can still get apps out of pocket at Artist Point if we want, and if DS gets really antsy by the end of the meal, we'll package our desserts and take them back to the room.

Savvy?

Yes, I am planning on booking a Disney cruise to help soften the blow of my 35th -- I haven't bothered to ask Charles if that is what he wants for his 40th (our birthdays are 10 days apart) because I know he wants it -- he just won't admit it :).

At our house we call it the "That would be you" game when one of the kids is showing their genetic predispositions. :rotfl:

And you understand it perfectly! :goodvibes

Sounds like a great idea!

It seems like something I read here on the DIS boards was talking about how kid friendly Artist Point is with crayons and such for the kids. I don't think you will have a problem at all!

I went and looked at that thread (from your Boma thread) of all the pics from that trip! Jinkies, Daphne, there was some good looking food on it!!!

That was my third thought, would that look silly? I figure if my LGMH paint chip won't look funny, neither would Jack Sparrow. They had all sorts of Disney characters.

I swear your husband is one of the most Disney non-Disney fans I've ever seen.:lmao:

You have that game too? Whenever DS gets really, really dramatic about something, DH gives me the look.

That's good to know. One of the only reasons I booked it for the first night is because we're staying there, so if DS gets really cranky, we can always take our desserts back to the room or one of us can cut loose with him and the other settle the check. Or perhaps a stroll in the lobby mid-meal. Whatever works.:thumbsup2

Did that not make you want to eat there? I mean, I know you already are, but those pictures made me  but in a totally good way. I am mildly bummed that I cancelled dinner since it's supposed to be fabu, but just couldn't fathom it twice in one day. I know we'll want to do other things that evening. In the itinerary I keep in my brain but don't write down, because remember, there is no itinerary, I think we may still head over to Downtown and if the boys are interested there's a HUGE McDonald's there. I know DS would be over the moon to go to toy stores and get McDonald's for dinner.:goodvibes

I haven't decided yet whether I'm brave enough to "out" myself with LGMH. I kind of like our privacy. I don't mind meeting with Tink...actually I'd put it right up there with Tonga Toast, my friends...but I don't know if I want to announce to everyone who I am. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't be on the look out on the down low.;)

Very! That is what you should do. :thumbsup2
I thought it was pretty smart of me.:thumbsup2

I want to book a cruise, did you see the deposits are 1/2 off?
I saw that, too. But as much as I'm in love with pirates...one in particular...I still cannot wrap my head around a cruise. Like my Orlando vacays too much!

And you will go to Earl Of Sandwich, right? ;)

How sad is it that when my mom sent me the menu for the restaurant we are going too after the spa, I thought, "Geez those will make great trip report pictures." Durrrrrr. :faint:

I hear ya! I totally don't mind meeting up the people that I frequently chat with, but others are a tad bit scary, in a good way I guess. :rotfl2:

I know! Then I think I could do one of the land/sea vacas but 4 days is just not enough at WDW in my opinion. It's very hard to give it up.
