Hi! First post here!!!! I was planning on booking 3 tickets on SWA from Prov to MCO on 1/19/06 and returning 1/14/06. WHen my gf booked her flights the seats were only $59.00. She booked just last week. In looking at the flights yesterday the cheapest on that day is $129 or higher. I really need to flight out on the 1/19 so her kids can occupy my kids. Is there any possibility of SWA releasing more reduced seats for that particular flight? PS I was thinking of calling SWA directly and explaining I will be travelling alone with three small kids (1 yr, 6 yrs with special needs and an 8 yr old) Any ideas?

Don't know if this helps you because I think it depends how may seats SW has left closer to flight time. I purchased our Dec. tickets the friday of Labor Day weekend. I got the exact flight down I wanted for $43, but in order to get the low fare back I had to take a 1 stop flight which extended our flight by 1 hour and 10 minutes. But for $60 each I took the flight. About 2 weeks ago the non-stop flight leaving 10 minutes before our flight lowered the price to $45, so I changed by tickets and paid the $4 extra. I do think it depends on how many seats are available. Good business practice for SW because most people buy their tickets and never look back, so it helped them get the most undesirable flight filled first. Good luck

Highly doubtful There are a lmited number of seats at each price point on each flight, and when they are gone, they are gone. I don't think calling is going to get you anywhere, but good luck if you do.

Have you downloaded Ding? Sometimes it will come up with new specials for the flights you want. It happened for me!:cool1:

What will you do if the fare goes up further? Some of the flights that day still have discounted seats available. Your options:

1) Book a different flight that day and not fly with your friend.

2) Book a different flight but have your friend change flights, no change fees with SW.

3) Book a different flight but hope for a discount that will allow you to change your flight later.

4) Book the flight you want and hope for a discount that will give you a credit.

BOOK SOMETHING NOW.

Generally airlines don't release more seats into the low flight bucket but the $129 fare is low enough so it might be discounted during a DING or internet sale.

BOOK ONE WAY TICKETS, it'll make it easier to change it if a DING sale comes up.

The problem with (2) is that your friend will have to pay if the $59 rate is not avaialble on the flights you book.

I agree that generally with SW once the sale seats are gone they are gone. However, you might try booking one at a time. It's possible that there might be one or two $59 left and then what you can't get at $59 you can get at the higher price.

Now while SW is a very nice airline, I doubt they care that you are traveling with three kids. And in the mind of the airlines 8 is not a "small child"
