Will someone steal my balloon tied to my car?

I read a tip in the past to buy a Mickey Head balloon and tie it to your car (like to the side mirror or something) to make it easier to find your car when you are leaving (we thought we were super smart to use the alarm to let us know where our car was - well, so did everyone else in the lot and it was like a symphony of car horns when the park closed). We'd keep a pair of scissors in the car and cut it off every night and re-use it throughout our trip. Do you think someone would take it? And can I find a Mickey balloon in DTD which is the first place we'll be going b4 going to the parks?

It's possible, I suppose.

Why not just text your parking section and aisle to yourself? That's what we do and we never have an issue finding our car.

Heehee, I haven't been to Disney since text and "notes" were around. When it's time to go I just wanna GO, not search forever!! As long as I am writing the location of the car I probably should write the make model and lic plate too, lest I forget that!!! ;)

I text myself and any travel partners the aisle numbers for the car, and we never have issues finding the car later.

If you do the balloon, I would be tempted to go with a different type of balloon that wouldn't be as likely to be stolen. Like, I could see a Mickey head balloon being more tempting that a Walmart Happy Face balloon. One would stand out in the park while the other would blend in.

Helium also is known to escape from balloons. Because of heat and cooling of thermal temperatures and stuff. Lots of various ways to keep track of what row your car is in. Take a picture with your camera or phone. Write it on a note and stick it in your wallet.

I will also mention this, you are staying at AKL. You can't have balloons there. You will need to leave it at the front desk or leave it in your car each night anyway due to the animals.

i take a photo of the lot and row number at the end of the aisle.

Why not just bring some ribbon to tie on your antenna? Or one of the goofy dollar store bendy flowers? They won't take up much room in your luggage to bring from home.

Why not paint the car orange and pink? Kidding.....if you have that much trouble remembering your section put one of the football flags out your window. I'd probably be irritated if my kids balloon got kifed and I could not find my car.

I wouldn't do it personally, but don't see why that should stop you! It would not be too likely to be stolen, but you never know.

I also take a photo of my parking spot when I'm at an airport or something (we don't drive at Disney ever).

I'd do something else like write down the aisle and section where your car is parked or text it to yourself.

I'd think a Mickey Balloon tied to a car would get stolen in a flash or lose helium in the heat so you wouldn't see it anyway since it wouldn't float anymore.

I have a monorail sticker in my back window that helps me find my vehicle fast once I get to the aisle and section where I'm parked. I'm hoping to get a doom buggie one next trip just to add to the fun. LOL

I would bet someone would. You hear of things stolen in the parks and that's with hundreds of people around. The parking lots are virtually empty after that initial rush - it wouldn't take much at all for a teenager to walk by and grab and pull and never have to slow his speed.

My husband is whiz at remembering where we park, but when I'm without him on an upcoming trip, I'm going to take a picture of where I'm parked, just to make sure I'm not scrambling at the end of the day.
