Do you suppose there will be a little notice BEFORE the 2006 dates open up? And do you think someone will post that information on this board?

Or is it more like one day we wake up and BANG there they are! The dates open in 2006?

How has it been in the past? Advance notice or Surprise?

From what I have seen, they just show up one day. Someone will usually post once they do come up though.

i spoke with a dcl supervisor on this past tuesday and she told me sometime in oct or nov of 2004 that 2006 will be out

We're also waiting for 2006. We we're planning to go back next year in August, but the Magic is in SoCal and we'd like to do it in FL so we can go to Disneyworld again. As of these year 1 more week and onto Hawaii!

This is one of the most active boards so I am positive that someone here will post information on 2006 dates and it won't be a surprise. We're waiting for 2006 dates also so we can move our current bookings. My guess is that, as in the past, Disney will probably open 2006 bookings in December. For our recent June 19, 2004 cruise, the bookings opened up on December 30, 2002. HTH

When I booked our cruise for 2005, I found out on these boards when the dates would be open for booking (Oct 1, 2003). I Sent in a request to Dreams Unlimited a few days ahead and on Oct 1 I had a quote for the cruise and cabin I wanted.
Good Luck:sunny:

I guess this means I can stop checking every day!! -- at least right now! I am watching for January 2006 (later in the month) dates to be released. I was under the impression that they would come out around 18 months in advance. So, I have been checking every day!

You mean I have to wait until October, November or even December?! How will I ever contain myself :hyper: ?

I'm waiting for the July 8 or August 5 2006 Eastern. Holy cow that's a long time, but I have more time to save my pennies!

I thought I was the only one waiting that far in advance! We're looking at July 6, 2006 to celebrate our 25th anniversary. This will be our first cruise, so I've been scouring this board for good info. I've been watching the DCL website & it will let you pull up Jan. 2006 but no further.

We are looking at July 2006 also, but I am not sure if we can afford it or not (since it is peak season). I figure our best chance will be early booking on board, and we sail in less than 8 weeks and was sort of hoping for the chance at the 10% discount too.

It isn't sounding promising right now, but we do have a second cruise in December and that is my 'last hope' for the 10% discount (I can't believe we have 2 cruises booked in 1 year--it is a long story, but this December one was booked back in 2002 and was suppose to be an extended family trip, but is now just the 4 of us, we are still going).

Anyway, I will keep watching for those dates!

We are waiting for the 7/1/06 Western. I have already sent my Cat 3 request into inventory control. We would have gone on the 7/2/05 western but the ship is going to the west coast and we have no desire to cruise the Mexican coast. Can the days go any slower..........

We are waiting for the June 4, 2006 cruise for my DW's 40th birthday, you all seem pretty sure that cruises will be back from Florida in summer 2006, but I have this really bad feeling that it might go back to California. Some of you are already listing Western or Eastern, how are you doing that? What would June 4, 2006 be?

What is the deal with Christmas week? How quickly will Christmas week cruises in 2006 sell outonce they become available? I would guess that would be a high season week?

Me too! Me too! :Pinkbounc We are looking at the 7/1/06 as well!
Who did you send your request to? Should I do this too? We already know what cabin we want-Deck 7 aft. There are very few Cat. 11's that sleep 4 on Deck 7 so I need to get my request in asap.

We used Small World Vacations for our 4 night on The Wonder and they were very nice but I have found other TA's listed here on the boards offer a bit better pricing.

If you already are booked and are looking to move your booking to a date in the future, if you want to request a specific stateroom or if you are looking to cruise during a specific time period, then you should fax a request to DCL Inventory Control Dept. The fax number is 407-566-7739. HTH

Thanks TootyJane! We are looking at a specific cabin and date but the 2006 rates are not out yet. Do I just fax the dates, number of cabins needed and our cabin request to them now? If so, what does this accomplish? Will they "hold" these cabins for us? Do we have to book directly with DCL if we do this?

Sorry for all of the questions, I'm just not familiar with this procedure.

When we sailed on The Wonder in May we didn't know any better and our TA actually chose the cabins for us. Now that we are on The DIS we have learned exactly what we want!

Thanks for your help, I'm worried because I want to secure our date and these cabins in advance if I can.

TIA!!

We want a specific cabin for the July 8th Eastern in 2006, but I wanted the 10% discount for booking 'onboard'.

I guess we can't have everything.
