Will Sci-Fi scare my kids?

I REALLY want the two kids to experience Si-Fi with me but My DD (12) is very sensitive to creepy stuff (she won't do bugs life, stitch and is coming to grips with the concept that the Haunted Mantion really is funnier than it is scary - I have HIGH hopes for her this trip! :Pinkbounc )

Can anyone tell me how loud the movie clips they play are? Is the screen bright and hard to ignore? Can I request a car toward the rear & away from the screen?

Here's a pic of the inside:

The sound is very low, at least when I was there. I could barely hear it. They mostly just show old scifi/creature type movie trailers. If you aren't sure if she'd like it, I am sure you can stroll by and check it out before you have your ADR. I'm sure they'll let you walk in and look so she can get a feel for it. They probably wouldn't have a problem giving you a table (car) in the back.

my 7 year old was so freaked out that the server moved us to a table so she could sit with her back to the screen... now to me nothing was "scary" just campy (is that a real word) but there was opne scene with some alien type thing? that just freaked her out... I was amazed because she is my braver one my older one wasn;t bothered by it and she is scared of everything

I was wondering the same thing. I think I'll pass with my DD3 and DS6 this time around.

DS - who loves Star Wars, etc. - had trouble with one particular "monster", which was a cheesy shot of a man who apparently was turning into an alien, or had be zapped with a laser or something. Half man - half monster. DS kinda froze.

Now, two years later, this is the restaurant he has requested for our upcoming trip!

Our kids were 2, 5 and 7 when we last ate there. My oldest is a big chicken and my little one was, well, still so "little" that I was worried. However, they did great. We laughed a lot at the "silly" movies - which are really, really, terrible, terrible attempts at being "scary" and the kids got a kick out of the atmosphere. I personally think that your child (at 12) would especially be fine.

On a side note: the wait staff is also pretty funny - yelling out things here and there and you can also get glow-in-the-dark ice cubes for their drinks and you could request a table where they don't have to look at the screen if you think it will bother your child.

It's a fun experience - just my .02.

I think it's a fun experience. Most kids are squalling because it's an indoor outdoor experience. The Sci fi movie loop - the movies are so old that it isn't scary at all. It's actually laughable because compared to the technology today it's so fake!

I think it is VERY funa nd not scary at all. Our VERY shy and timid 4 year old DD thought they were great and was not scared a bit.
