Will Remy and Guardians both be ILL$ this summer?

Until August 7, each park has only one ILL$ ride, with with the second ride that is usually ILL$ temporarily moved to Genie+. (Right now, SDMT, RotR, FoP, and Remy are ILL$, and SM, MMRR, EE, and FEA have been moved over to G+.)

When Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind opens later this month, it will be ILL$. Will Epcot have 2 ILL$ rides this summer (GotG and Remy)? Or will Remy move over to G+ until August 7?

I have to think that Remy will move to G+ as Epcot needs another popular G+ ride anyways to go along with Frozen and Test Track. Keep each park with just one ILL ride. Eventually TRON will replace Mine Train at Magic Kingdom.

Piggybacking with a slightly different question - Are they really going to shift four rides back to ILL on Aug 8? It just seems so confusing for the average visitor if rides keep switching tiers, especially if Remy moves to G+ in May only to move back to ILL 10 weeks later.

They did it after the Christmas holidays, im sure they will do the same again.

Post Aug 7th, do we think Frozen or Remy will be the second ILL at Epcot? My guess is Remy, but i could see it going to Frozen.

I hope they are monitoring closely how differently G+ has been working with just 1 ILL per park as opposed to 2 ILL per park. With some of the confusion and struggles around people using G+, it is far less effective as a tool for guests when the top 8 attractions are not even available. It has to be better when "only" the top 4 are not available. I sure do hope they keep it to no more than 1 ILL per park, but that's probably wishful thinking.

Agreed. Eventually, I would expect Tron to replace Space Mountain. And for Disney to switch back and forth between 1 ILL$ per park during peak seasons (spring break, Christmas holidays, summer), and 2 ILL$ per park during non-peak seasons.

When there are two ILL$, I would expect them to be: MK--Tron, SDMT; Epcot: GotG, Remy; HS: RotR, MMRR; AK: FoP, EE. When there is only one ILL$, I would expect Tron, GotG, RotR, FoP.

And in the future (assuming this convoluted system lasts that long), I would expect each new significant ride to bump out the secondary ILL$ ride in the park.

My initial question was whether they might hold onto two ILL$ in Epcot only this summer, given that Remy is such a new ride that they may not want to move it over to Genie+ so quickly. But I think I'm inclined to agree with the posters above who said that that seems unlikely.

I was thinking they would leave Remy ILL for the summer since it still sells out every day. I guess you are right about which rides will go back to ILL in August, although it would make much more sense to do SDD instead of MMRR from a $$$ perspective.

I'm not sure I understand the logic of doing *fewer* rides as ILL during peak times. Wouldn't fewer ILL rides mean longer standby lines? And when the parks are busier, paying to skip the line seems less necessary. The whole thing seems backwards to me.

As I understand it, the goal isn't fewer ILL$. The goal is more (quality) rides as part of Genie+. During peak season, you could pay $15 per person for Genie+, and then find out that all of the good rides are gone in the morning, and literally everything is gone by mid-afternoon. This creates a huge pool of angry customers who paid a premium and feel like they were ripped off. By adding another premium ride into the Genie+ pool, the hope is that each Genie+ customer will end up with a slightly better experience. Disney is willing to lose the additional ILL$ revenues in order to avoid so much negative publicity and so many angry customers demanding Genie+ refunds. Plus, if Genie+ is less of a rip off during peak season, more people will buy it, and Disney will probably end up ahead financially.

I will be shocked if they go back to 2 ILL's per park in August. Limiting it to just a single ILL per park is much easier for customers to understand, and gives much needed relief to the G+ service by including one more popular ride to the pool. In fact I could see them in the future eliminating ILL's all together and just including all rides into one G+ package but with the price for G+ per day skyrocketing. Having so many different rules between LL, ILL, VQ, etc is not helping anyone. Even cast members have trouble keeping up.

As @UFnuts said, Remy will most likely move to G+ as each park has only one ILL$ until early August.
I hope you are right scrappinginontario!!!

We'll be there mid-late July and purchased G+ for all of our 8 days. (2 at EP). If Remy is available on G+, that will certainly be my go to first G+ selection. Soarin has low waits in the evening standby anyway, and that leaves TT and Frozen as the only other two highly desired G+ for us. I expect with some refreshing we'll be able to get all four with G+ though.

We'll pony up for the Guardians cost unless the waits really dip at night. One of our EP evenings will have EEH, so maybe we'll see how the reported waits are for Guardians late into the 2 hour EEH timeframe.

Guardians isn't going to have a standby line when it opens - it will be Virtual Queue and $ILL only. There won't be any data for wait times until they move it off of VQ, and there's no telling how long that might be.

Oh that's right!!! Thanks for that reminder. Looks like we're shelling out $$$. I don't like paying, but I like the fact that it opened before our visit even more!!!

We're in the same spot with our June trip. We originally heard about $ILL and thought "No way! We're spending enough!" But now we're feeling like we'll have to shell out for Rise and Guardians to make sure we get to ride them. Luckily it's just me and the husband...those can get pricey with bigger families!

Nobody knows yet if Remy will move to G+. If they don't move it Epcot will be the only park with 2 ILLs.

Fully expect to see both as ILL$.
Expect to see MK have 7DMT and Tron as ILL$ when Tron opens.
