Will my two year old enjoy disney?

Mine sure as heck did I don't think you have anything to worry about. Have a great trip!

We took our DD last April and she was 21 months. She did have a lot of fun and went on all the rides without her being frightened. We did go home and take naps, but on one day, we thought she was doing good, so we didn't go home, and that night she was a wreck. The next day we just ended up staying around the condo.

Another note...I really thought after she turned 2 and a few months after, how much more fun it would have been because she could talk and communicate SO much more. What a difference a few months makes. So I think you will be taking her at a good age.

Both of my children have gone numerous times before the age of three. A really great thing for them was booking character breakfasts. It gave them more interaction time with the characters, which they liked. They rarely liked having to wait inline and then being thrown at the character just for a picture (we learned that lesson early!)

AND, you don't have to pay for them at the buffet meals. We did tons of character meals this last trip when DS was 2 1/2. He got to see the characters then, so more time to do other stuff in the parks and we didn't have to pay for him to eat :thumbsup2

We just got back yesterday from taking our 15.5 month old daughter and she had a fantastic time. Her favorite ride/attraction by a long shot was Country Bear Jamboree, followed by The Seas with Nemo, Peter Pan's Flight, and It's a Small World. We went at a very leisurely pace, stopping to let her look at whatever captured her interest (water features, plants, and possibly every single manhole in the entire park). We also made sure that we packed snacks for her and stopped often to eat, sit down, play, whatever she seemed to need.

My youngest DD has been to WDW at 3 months, at 15 months, and just recently again at 26 months. Last year, at 15 months, she had fun but cried quite a bit when characters came near her. But this year, at 26 months, she absolutely loved them!! She was sooo into everything Disney!

Actually, every day (and many times throughout the day) she asks "Can we go to Disneyworld?" or "Go see the castle/Florida?". LOL She is definitely my Disney baby and wants to go back so bad! It took my oldest DD9 quite a few trips before she was in love with Disney although I still don't think as much as her sister.

Go and have fun!!

I took my 2 1/2 year old Dniece to DisneyWorld in June. Everyoe tried to talk me out of it saying she was too young. She loved it. She had such a good time she didn't even get homesick for her parents! She still talks about the trip constantly asking when she can go back to Micka Mouse's house. I told her I'd take back when she is 4 or 5, so she is working on her Daddy who has never been and doesn't understand the magic. We went at her pace and didn't plan rope drops or late nights. We tried to go back to the resort for naps but she would fall asleep on the bus ride back and be ready to go when we got to the room. So the last couple of days we let her nap in her stroller and stayed in the parks. It gave her other aunt a chance to go on some grown up aunts as that was her 1st trip, while I relaxed and people watched.

We took my son to Disneyland in California at 2.5 years old (added a few days on to DH's business trip) and he LOVED it. He has not stopped talking about it since then (about 8 months ago). He wants to look at pictures of the trip constantly and always asks to go back. He loved the characters, and loved all the rides we went on. He has no idea we're going back in about 6 weeks, but I think he is going to be so excited.

DD went for the 1st time at 11 months. She loved it! We took her again this summer at almost 3 (a month shy) and she LOVED it even more. We are going again in May because she has been begging to go back.

Have a great time and just play things by ear.

I took dd in January right before she turned 3 and it was the best thing i ever did.It was so much fun that i booked us another trip using the special deal for this coming january. I have never had so much fun. She showed so much enthusiasm over the smallest details that I realized how much it was worth the money. She really loved having dinner with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare and couldn't sit still. She also was too excited about Chef Mickey's. The best thing I can say is just take it easy. We spent a week at Fort Wilderness but only one day at the MK and a day at the AK. It was even too much with the two parks. Just enjoy spending time with them even if they only want to catch lizards or swim in the pool. Oh and get the autograph book with the photo slots because DD is still showing it to everyone.

YES~~~

We went in May with DS (29months) and he was enthralled. I just kept thinking about all the things he was getting to experience and learn about because everything was a new "real-life" experience.

DH and I have been many times, so we were pretty relaxed about things and not concerned with doing it all. DS slept in his stroller, so we didn't go back for naps, but usually left the parks shortly after dinner. Rarely made rope drop, just let him sleep till he woke up.

DS loved the "Where's Donald Ride" (mexico) and was distraught the last day when we had to walk past the Mexico pavilion to leave and we didn't go in. He knew what was in there!!! Amazing. He loved the characters and new the routine after a few visits. Give them the autograph book, hug, turn around for picture. Like I said 2 1/2 year olds just suck up everything they see and do. I was soo glad we took DS at this age.

We are leaving in one-week :woohoo: and DS will turn 3 while we are there. He already knows what he wants to ride and who he wants to see. It's amazing what they remember (...and of course "Where's Donald" is on that list.)

ETA: Don't forget to stop at the play areas! A playground is always a great energy release!

My husband and I are planning on taking our daughter to disney when she's two and a few months next december. We are also brinning my parents and dh's mom. My question is for people who've taken there toddles, do they enjoy the trip (the kids that is)? We'll be going slow and doing what she wants as we will have just been last october. Thanks for your input and tips.

Nope. She will hate every minute of it!;)
Of course she will love it! So will you because you will see her enjoy it so much! Have a great trip!:cutie:

So we've booked our trip and i'm already so excited for her to see her favorites (Tigger and Pooh). Yippee for Disney!!

I took my DD for the first time when she was 1 then again at 2.... we are planning a 3rd time in May 09 she is now 3. She LOVES it.... but like other posters I also started her watching the Disney channel then i watched videos on youtube of disney characters there and such..... She loves it and she talked about our last trip when she was 2 for months after. She still remembers it now. Just make sure you leave time to take a break from the park to take your DD to take a nap because all the walking and sun will be exhausting especially to a 3 year old.

NAP! Nap! Nap! My daughter did not nap at home when we went, but we ALL needed a break midday.

I was scared of how she would be, she was scared of parades, scared of the phone ringing, scared of the build-a-bear mascot at the mall, etc)

She immediately fell in love with Crystal Palace characters (first meal). She turned into a character hog, and started running to characters in Epcot for pictures by end of the week.

Keep in mind you might have to exit a show or attraction at a moments notice after standing in line. Things were hit and miss with DD. The dive suit in the Little Mermaid que area sent her over the edge.

Be flexible and have fun!

The best advice anyone ever gave us before we took our 18 month old was that if you do this think of it as a trip for them and not for you.

I kind of think of it the other way...This is not a trip for them or you. It is a trip about you watching them enjoy what they can about Disney. Don't take them at this age if this is your "BIG TRIP TO DISNEY". They won't get everything and you won't be able to everything you want. But! It is priceless to watch them enjoy the things they can.

Like others say, take their lead on whether or not they like the characters. Do all the interactive play grounds. Let them take naps. Take your time looking at the fishies.

Basically...have no expectations.

You've gotten some good advice already! Just don't feel that you HAVE to see and do everything. Take advantage of the child swap feature and find a place for your little one to just have a little "free play" time either back at your resort or in the parks. There is a play area at MK-Donald's boat, AK-the dinosaur playground, DS-the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area. Just have fun! And whatever you do-take a stroller!:yay:

All these comments are making me want to rethink when we are going to take our LO to WDW. We were thinking of taking her for her 3rd birthday. Now I'm thinking we'll go when she's 2 instead! :)
