Will MagicBands work for EMH morning of check in day?

We have ressie w/ check in to BWI on a Saturday. I have decided to add a day before (Friday night, which I can get free at Dolphin with airline points.) We would like to go on to AM EMH that Saturday, but it won't be check in time yet. Are we eligible for EMH that morning?

I am trying to avoid 2 sets of tix/ bands.

I guess we should just go over to BWI Friday night and ask. There won't be much time before EMH in the morning… or are the tix automatically active first thing in the morning check in day if linked to a paid ressie?

Last week we went in one night early and stayed at the CBR. The next day for our regular reservations we were at POR. We also had two sets of bands. What we did was check into CBR the first day. Then around 8am the next day we were at POR and checked in. I did the online check in and put that we would arrive at 8am. When we go there they already had our room ready. They activated our bands and we put our stuff in our room and then we were off to the parks.

One note - Make sure they check you out of the resort you were at the night before. When we checked into POR there was a problem activating our bands because CBR hadn't officially checked us out in the system yet. It wasn't a big deal but delayed us a few more minutes while they figured it out. Oh and any resort can check you out in the system from any WDW resort so POR was able to take care of it for us.

The only problem with doing this is that we didn't get to the park when it opened. We had morning fast passes so it wasn't a problem.

I went for a few days last month..first night was at an offsite hotel, next two nights were at Pop Century. The second day Hollywood Studios had EMH, and this was the day we were checking into Pop Century. We didn't have time to check out the first hotel, get to pop century, check in, then head to HS for EMH. So we checked out the offsite hotel and headed straight to Hollywood Studios. I asked a cast member if we could get in for EMH if we were checking into a Disney Hotel that day. She said of course, as long as check in was the same day as EMH.

So I pulled out my phone, showed her the email of the reservation confirmation, she walked up to the entrance with us and told the cast members at the gates that we were checking in that day and were good to go. So we got in no problem. Really glad they let you do that.

The tickets should be active if they're linked in MDE. You can use the tickets whenever you want correct? So your ticket should be good.

It's the question of whether or not they'll let you in during EMH if you haven't checked in, correct?

I would think when they scan your band, your reservation would show. Even if you physically haven't checked in yet, it should work. I would just make sure you can pull it up on MDE and show them because at least for EMH in the morning, you only have to scan once to enter the park.

Yes. The crux of the question is really: are the bands active on the day of check in but Before check in?
