Will it happen our not? Two months out & it's a wait & see for me...

We have been booked for months, and the money is in the bank to pay the trip off next month, but now with the threat of a Gov. shutdown it may not happen. DH could go as long as a month w/o pay and he will not let me drop $4500.00 on a trip when he is not getting paid. I understand, but it's killing me.

This is not political, this is just about us & not getting paid like in any other job.

My DD graduates from HS on May 27th, and we are planning on going to Disney that night. We check in at POR the next morning. This trip started out as a family celebration, but we have already lost my sister & her family going for other reasons, and now it's just my family & my mom and step dad.

My 13 year old DD will not be going either. She is staying behind due to cheerleading. She is fine with it because she will be going to cheer camp at the beach. She loves it! I am a little saddened by this as well though. I don't like leaving one behind.

So now it's a wait & see game that we are playing. It's on my mind 24/7 and I am stressed. It's not looking good, but hopefully everything will work out and congress will pass a budget. We are supposed to know something on April 8th, and I am due to pay it off on April 13th. Please pray for us that it works out. We all could use this trip, but if we have to wait, we will rebook for after Thanksgiving. I am just worried that DD will be so disappointed.

Maybe I should move this to the coping and compassion thread.


We came up with an emergency plan, we think. We could cancel my room, and stay with my mom & step day in their room and pay for 1/2 of the room, as well as our tickets. This would mean that DH stays at home with DD 13 to get her to and from cheer practice and ready for camp. The most important thing here is that DD 18 gets to go. It's for her graduation, and I already have the Graduation Mickey ears!!

This is going to be a long wait. April 8th can't get here soon enough. Pray that things work out for us so that we can keep original plans.
