Will it be everything we expect?

Im getting excited now for our 5 day trip in May, staying at the Disneyland Hotel this time.

We are having an all expenses trip paid for by my parents for the second time and this time have Madelane, 10 and Isabella,2 with us and the grandparents.:cool1:

Will the Disneyland Hotel live up to its expectations? The reason we are staying there is that my Father has very bad osteo-arthritis and Plantar Fasciitis, making walking just a nightmare for him. He will be 70 years old when we go and my mum fears this may be our last trip as an entire family so they are going all out and paying for us all to go.

This will be Madelane's 4th trip and Isabella's first, although she was im my tummy, cooking, last time. I was unable to enjoy the rides because of that fact.;);)

My question is....I cant remember, do we book our restaurants on arrival? We fancy the Parkside diner twice, as last time it was great, the Newport Bay and another hotel to eat it. I cant remember what i did last time about booking them. We are half board plus.

Thanks :goodvibes

Hello :goodvibes

I'm sure you are going to have a great time and that the DLH will be just perfect.

You'll have all the celebrations for the 20th, longer park hours and you'll be a few steps from it all :goodvibes

For the restaurants you can either book in advance starting from 60 days before you want to eat or do it when you get there

As you don't have to pay a deposit and you can change without any pb I'd advise booking before you go as May is a busy month for DLP

DLH is fantastic just for location alone - not to mention the lobby, breakfast and just overall beauty of the entire hotel. Your dd's will feel like princess' walking into the pink palace ;)

5 days will be great for you to take your time and not need to rush around.

If you have any specific restaurants that you definitely don't want to miss, I'd suggest booking in advance, using the booking line number. I've never had any problems with them. For the rest you can book via your hotel or at City Hall.

I think you'll all have a fantastic time :goodvibes

We have never stayed at the disneyland hotel but would love to just because of the location: no need to get up quite so early to make it to EMH :goodvibes. Every time we go our girls ask to stay at 'the pink palace', I am trying to see if I can stretch to it for at least part of our next trip because it may be the last for a while.

It can't do any harm to phone up and book your meals in advance, I have always found the phoneline to be very friendly and helpful. :goodvibes

Will the Disneyland Hotel live up to its expectations?
Yes ::yes:: We stayed there last year for my 50th and it lived up to all of mine. :cloud9:

What lovely parents you have :goodvibes sorry to hear about your father's health but hope you all have a wonderful trip and make lots of special memories.

I like to book all my meals by phone before we go (00 33 1 60 30 40 50) I know many say it's not necessary but for me it's all part of the holiday build-up! :wizard:

We've stayed there both our trips so I can't compare to the other Disney hotels but it is lovely :lovestruc. I'm sure when you compare to the other Disney hotels you have stayed in you will love it. And yes, your DDs will feel like Princesses :goodvibes

The location itself will make it worthwhile for your Father :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear about his health. I hope you all have such a wonderful trip :wizard:

It might be worthwhile emailing guest communications before you go (a week or so before) and explaining your Father's health and so asking for central rooms/perhaps ground floor. Although not the largest hotel there, the walk to a lift alone can take a little while if you are at the end of a corridor AND at the end of a wing if that makes sense.

I too would book restaurants before - you can always change them when you get there should you need to but can't book when you get there if they are full :)
