Will Immigration stamp a teddy's passport?!

DDs teddy (Kingsley) has a bear factory passport & both times immigration have stamped the passport. The second time, the officer also a stamped a picture of his favorite character in too - maybe suggesting this is more common than most of us would imagine.

Hi Pooky,
Well, we were lucky enough to take the school mascot sparkles on holiday with us.
He was a very good passenger and very well behaved and I reckon his suitcase and winning smile won the immigration officer over and even though he looked real scary he was more than happy to stamp Sparkles passport.
Infact sparkles was really the centre of attention wherever we went , we have photos oh him coming down splash mountain, being pursued by a run away train, you name it he even got hunted down by a rather large shark that goes by the name of Jaws!!!
And we have the photos and diary to prove it.
I must say it was quite a responsibility taking such a loved class pet!!
Infact I would do a head count at the end of each day Hubbie, paps, gran, uncle, daughters SPARKLES and me. I wouls wake up in cold sweats worrying that I had lost him.
Anyway I think you will be fine and will get that passport stamp
Regards from down the road

We went to Universal in Spain in August and my sons Woody Woodpecker was lucky enough to have his own seat on the plane coming back.

The stewardess was brilliant and checked he belt was secured tightly before take off. My son thought this was fantastic!!!

Must admit, when we last went to the States my youngest had his teddy in his hand. Hubby asked my son if teddy had remembered his passport or he might not be allowed in and the woman on the desk gave us a awful look! Didn't try it again! Hope teddy has a lovely time!

I go everywhere with Aruna, and I have my own website too! (www.jjpenguin.com)

Luckily I have never been stopped at immigration as I only have a virtual passport. Usually I sneak through in Aruna's backpack.

I think as long as the teddy cannot be tracked back to the 'old country' you should be ok. I have a friend whos daugthers teddie spent some time in Sicilly during the post war years, and they just refused Floridian entry to the bear.

He just hung around the airport waiting for them to come back after their hols had finished.

In fact they just made it into a move with Tom Hanks playing the bear 'The Terminal' or something it called.

Hi all. This is my very first post ever to the dis site!

I have a traveling teddy - actually it is my sorority chapter's mascot - and we have a passport for her. She hasn't been out of the states yet but we have been able to have her little passport stamped at post offices when she travels with one of the sisters.

Passports for US bears are a fairly new idea - I guess because we don't have close countries to travel to like you do in Europe. I had to find a place on the internet to order one and it wasn't even in the US.

She will be traveling with my husband and me on our Disney Cruise in April. It will also be her first cruise. I think we will be able to get her passport stamped at some of the islands - even if we just do it at the post office.

Just an idea for those of you with teddy passports going where you don't actually go through customs.

Take care,
Sandy (In Alabama, USA)
