Will I regret our hotel choice?

Two nights? You can sleep anywhere for two nights (barring filth and bugs, of course)! We've stayed at ASMu, in the Broadway section, several times. Someone referred to "the long walk" to Broadway but it's nothing compared to some of the walks at POP, CSR, AKL, etc. My top speed is "stroll" and I'd say it was about a 5 minute walk! Also, if you stay at ASMo, ask for a room in the Ducks section. Depending on the location, it's closer to walk over to ASMu for the bus, the food court, the pool and the pool bar than it is to go to ASMo's main area!

I stayed at AllStars in November and the rooms seem much larger with the queen bed and Murphy bed- especially when leaving the Murphy bed "up". Is it my first-choice resort? No- AKL is my true love, but the room there is about $300 more a night than at AllStars- and for a couple of nights, AllStars is fine.

Just returning from our trip and I thought I’d give an update. ASMu was awesome. I really enjoyed the renovated room. We requested a king and got it. It was fantastic.

Only downside was this morning we wanted to get breakfast before hitting the road. Holy cow!! Crowds galore. Other than that it was a very nice resort stay. We had dinner there last night, the food was fabulous. Had a nice fresh greek salad.

We didn’t use the buses because we had our car and I don’t like the buses. Overall for a quick trip I’d stay there again. I do prefer deluxes with sofas though but I think it’s a really good value option.

I stayed at the family suites there a few nights last year and had the same thoughts. I was pleasantly surprised and actually keep it in the back of my mind for a cheaper stay when I only want to go to the parks and not spend much time at the resorts.

Like a few others, I have to disagree and would go for an upgrade--to POFQ, at least. POFQ is our favorite moderate resort, so it (or a deluxe/DVC resort) wins, hands-down, every time. When our adult children were younger, we'd often stay in the value resorts to justify (and afford) more frequent Disney trips. However, now that wife and I are older, we enjoy being comfortable and enjoying the resorts, too. Also, the bus transportation at POFQ is far superior than that at one of the value resorts.

I do understand the "well, it's only two nights" or "we're only sleeping there" mantras, but being comfortable and mitigating the hassle factor should be factored in, too, which is why my wife and I never stay in the value resorts. Ultimately, however, staying in a value is better than NOT being at Disney (or, in most cases, staying offsite), so if staying within a certain budget is a priority, opt for a value resort and make the most of it!

Happy travels!

Not crazy about any of the All Star Hotels, but its only 2 nights and heard they have done the rooms over, I would stay there...we didn't like the bus service either at these hotels either
