Will I regret going in December?

I have 2 DD's who will be 6 and 4 at the time. With the fluctuation of temps as it is in December will I be in for a week of complaining it's "too cold" or do the kids enjoy it? When we went in May they were "too hot" and the water bottle fans worked like a charm and the complaints stopped. Just don't know how they will do when it's in the 30's at night trying to see things? Any advice?

I went in December 2004 and I am planning another trip this year. It was definately cold last time,but it was perfect with the Christmas decorations & holiday spirit. I think it would have felt weird if it was hot.

I enjoyed the December temps more than the August temps.

Just bring layers.. so you can htrow on a sweater or jacket on the kids, they will be happy to be a disney no matter the temp.

Our last trip fell in both Nov. and Dec. and we loved it. It was very warm the first few days, and cooler the last few. We just wore layers like the previous poster said and we took headband "ear" warmers (for the gals) and made sure we had stretchy gloves in the backpack for everyone. We never had to use the headbands, but did use the gloves on our last night. It wasnt freezing, but it felt good to have the gloves on. We loved this time of year. I will take cooler temps and layering clother anytime over sweltering heat and sweat running down your back!!

We just took our 6 and 4 yr old boys....we were there Dec 4 - 9 and the weather was perfect. We wore shorts our first few days and towards the end it got cooler and we were fine in pants and long sleeves...never wearing a jacket. They swam in the pool...and even at 9:30 at night they were happily swimming without a word about being cold (until we got out to walk to the room at the Poly). You definitely have to pack clothes for warm and cool weather...there is no way I would ever go when it is hot and humid...I don't think you will regret your decision!!!

December is a great time to go. Especially if you are all into the holidays becasue Disney is like holiday central in December. Decorations and holiday music everywhere. As for the temps, it could be warm during the day, it won't be 90 but it could be in the 70's. We just came back from a week during Christmas and it was in the 70's all week. I wore shorts and my mom and sister wore kapri's and then just switched to pants and sweatshirts at night. It didn't get into the 30's i don't think, it got probably to the 50's. All in all the weather was amazing all week. This was our 4th Christmas down there and it was the best weather we have had. Just bring layers with you and be prepared for both extremes. Like I said, expect it to be in the low 70's-80's during the day and around the 50's at night.

December is my very favorite time to visit. We are not big swimmers, and the kids and I don't handle extreme heat very well. Add in the holiday decorations, and I think it's perfect!

We went early December 2004...partly because I was actually HOPING it would be cooler and it was 85-90 the whole time we were there! -- The day after we left it dropped to 65!

You just never know with December weather in Florida and I wouldn't base your whole decision on that. It's a wonderful time to go, it just takes more packing planning. You need a little of everything...from bathing suits to hats and gloves!

We were just there 11/30-12/6, 2005, and the weather was definitely variable. We had some nights that were quite chilly, and we were wearing fleece jackets, winter hats and gloves, but then at the end of the trip, the days were very warm and at night we only needed a light pullover. My children are 4 and 6, and they didn't mind the changes. I just made sure I packed jackets, hats and gloves either in my backpack or in the basket under the stroller.

For us, it definitely wasn't swimming weather (I won't swim unless it is well over 80) but no one seemed to mind. We were so busy doing everything else, and we really loved MVMCP...definitely worth the extra money!

We always go in early-mid December and just love it. The weather varies alot (we have had everything from the 80s to the 40s in the same trip), but as some one from up north, it still seems warm to us. (This past December, we had some weather in the 60s, which was very mild to us for this time of year, but on the local weather, it was called a "cold spell"!!). It really is a great time to go, what with the holiday stuff and the smaller crowds - I would highly recommend it.

I've been the past two Decembers, and would recommend it. I think the kids actually did better in the cooler weather than they would have in the heat. Just be ready for anything, weather wise. I ended up having to buy a hat and gloves for the night we went on an illuminations cruise.

We had to do the same thing for our IllumiNations cruise! Day after Christmas this year, the temps fell that night to 30 degrees...we were sitting, watching the CP, shivering to beat the band (pun intended!). So on our way to the cruise, we all bought sweatshirts, and piled on the blankets when we boarded the boat.
The days, though, were beautiful! High 60's to upper 70's all week, no rain except for one night, perfect park weather. Started off with light sweaters, which came off midday, short sleeves, capris all week. We always took a midday break, went back to the room, and got our heavier duds on for the evenings (most of which were in the mid 40's to lower 50's).

We went this past Dec. (12/8 - 12/13, 2005). We have a 5, 3, and just turned a year old. And we are definitely hooked. We had weather mainly in the upper 60's- lower 70's the whole time and it dropped to the lower 50's in the evening. We were dressed in long sleeve shirts and jeans the whole time and put on a light jacket during the evening. My husband wore shorts and a long sleeve shirt a couple of days. Only one night did we need to wear gloves. It did rain a couple of the days. After the first day it rained, we prayed it would rain more. It just kept the crowds down. We walked onto almost every ride when it was raining. When it wasn't, the most we waited was about 15 minutes. I think we waited 30 minutes for Peter Pan. We got FP's for most of the busier rides. I watched the weather carefully a week or so before we left to plan what it was going to be. Their predictions were pretty much right on. They did have a chance of rain almost every day we were there, but it didn't. We came prepared with panchos. I wouldn't trade that weather for any time. It was great. We are already planning to go back the same time next year!
