Will I really like Wilderness Lodge?

I think you will like it, because it is BEAUTIFUL. Also it you can walk down to the buses and go to the parks or where ever. And you have the boats, and the two pools. Its Great.:smooth:

Um, I like the All-Stars, but I just wasn't wowed by WL. I mean, I'm wowed when I visit, but I don't like staying there. I'm wierd. I don't like interior halls, they are too noisy. I thought that the extra room space was used by the large clunky furniture.

But I loved CBR. No, I'm not SafetyMom, but I've gotta agree with her. Even though it was stinking hot, I loved walking around the resort outside.

And I'm a mountain person. Don't get it.

BUT, you really can't do wrong at any resort, and I know why so many love WL. I'm just one who only loves to visit it.

I'm really glad we decided to book WL this year and can't wait to get there. Everyone on the boards seems to love it. We loved looking at the National Park Lodges during our trip to Yellowstone last summer and everyone in the family said they wanted to stay at one.

DS 15 & DD 10 have no idea we're going to WDW this year. We just told them we're going to stay in a lodge like we saw last year. We're hoping to keep it a surprise until we get to the airport and they see we're going to Orlando.

If you're use to All Stars, you will L O V E wilderness Lodge. Especially given your description of your family. It's a lovely resort and a nice "country place". Now, I'm an Epcot resorts kind of gal (YC/BC all the way!) but we tried WL for the first time this year. I didn't love it but that's because I was comparing it to my favorite. I do think compared to All Stars, you'll be in heaven.

I think the only thing that you might miss at the WL that the All Star Resort had is a food court. I think these can be really handy for a quick fast meal... but otherwise the WL seems to be an excellent choice!

Hi. We are going to WL for our second time at the end of July. We have ds who is 4 and DD who is 2. We can't wait. Just a few things. First I read on another site that you can the be Family for the Day and raise the flag at 7AM. Too early for us, but check into it. Also check tripadvisor.com, they rate hotels and I think WL is the highest or second highest rated Disney hotel. Next, I was pulled out some old Disney stuff and I found a clipping I had from our paper a few years ago and WL was the number 1 family friendly hotel in the country. No it's not the most expensive deluxe hote, but it may be the very best!!!!!

Last, I think it will be one of the featured hotels on the Travel Channel this Friday the 11th at 5 PM. America's Best Family Friendly Hotels. Check that out.

Have a GREAT time!!!!!!!!

Don't change. We stayed there Thanksgiving 2002 and absolutely fell in love with the place! My boys, 14 & 9, loved the themeing and the pool. The boats to the MK and other nearby resorts are the best!

Hey - I'll let you know what our family thinks of WL after our trip in September. Oh yeah, my only reason for this post - to check the countdown timer.

Mary

Hey Mary, looks like we'll be at the WL about the same time! Hope you have a great vacation!

I used to read that thread, but it got too long, and question sort of got sandwiched in there.

I wish that thread had a questions, with a link to answers versus asking a question and three pages later getting a response.

Then accept my assurance your family will have the time of their life at WL. There will be children of all ages there and yours will not want to leave.

The only problem with WL is part of you stays there after you check out and you will be obsessed with planning on how to return.

PS: Get the 20oz. refilable mugs, 10.99. More then pay for themselves and keep the kids from dinging you for money. Coffee, tea (hot or cold), soda, HC, Lemonaide.

We have made over 35 visits to WDW in the past 12 years, and have stayed at every value, moderate, and half of the deluxe resorts. We have totally fallen in love with the WL. There is something magical about it. The rooms aren't that special, but the resort has such a warm cozy feeling that you can't wait to get back to at the end of the day. We enjoyed the AKL and BWI, but NOTHING compares in our book to the WL. I don't know what it is. When you leave they must place a spell on you so you won't be satisfied until you return!

Does Pooh Bear like Hunny?

The WL is our favorite! Enjoy!!

I started off at All Star Music, then went to Port Orleans (French Quarter) and moved to Wilderness Lodge on my next trip. Now I am hooked.

It felt like home. I started plotting and scheming how soon I could get back. I thought maybe Yacht Club or Boardwalk for my next trip because I love Epcot but noooooooooooooooo, it HAS to be Wilderness Lodge! :bounce:
