Will I need a hand-held fan at the end of April?

I have not been during the week you are going but I have been the first two weeks of May 6 times. Of those 6 times three of the visits the days were in the low 90's most of the time. The other three times the temp varied from the high 70's to high 80's. Depending on how you deal with themperature it wouldn't hurt to have it with you just in case.

More than likely no, but if you find one cheap near you, I would goo ahead and pick one up for each person in your party.

Temps can change often, better to be safe than sorry and not pay the prices for the one in Disney.

I know 3 hours south of Orlando, it is extremely humid here this week, so chances are in April it will be that way up there.

We went for my son's b-day at the beginning of May and the heat was horrible! I actually felt sick from the heat (almost passed out). I swore when we got home I would never go again that time of the year or in the summer and I'm a Florida resident! When you passed the places selling the fans the CM would squirt you with the ice cold water. You can find them all over the parks with batteries included. Of course this year I've planned a trip for the end of May beginning of June and I'm bringing the fan I bought last year. :flower:

THey are out at Walmart!! Saw them last week. They are sooooo expensive at the parks. We did use ours alot, in May a couple of years back, but that was during a drought, and the fires around Disney, so it might have been hotter than normal.

I plan on packing a couple just in case. We will be there the 22nd-30th.

Out at Wal-mart?? They were out of the water bottle holders, with a strap last I was there too.

Try Wal-greens, Target and many folks here at the DISboards say dollar stores!!

Go ahead and grab extra "cheap" ponchos while you see them. The expensive ones seem to be in all those stores listed above year round, but the cheapies come and go quickly!!

I never could find those neck bandana's in Wal-Mart either (the ones you wet or put in fridge), that you tie around your neck to help keep you cool, finally got mine at Sports Authority.

Thanks for the reply- :sunny: I mean't they are out on the shelves at Wal-mart, not sold out :teeth: :teeth: I saw them in the aisle with the fans.

I better find some before we leave just in case. We're used to dry and cool weather so WE'LL probably need them. THANKS!

I have a related question.
I will be in WDW the last week of April 25 - May 3 and I am trying to decide whether to get tickets which will include the Water Parks admissions.
Is it hot enough all day long this time of year to spend a day at the Water Parks?

We go every year in April & always go to the waterparks & carry a fan most days at the parks. I believe the average "normal" temps for late April are in the mid-80's. We love April at WDW!!
