Will I get to make fastpass reservations?

i haven't been to Disney World since 2009, so the magic bands and new fast pass system is new to me. We plan on going February 6-9, 2017. We usually make hotel reservations about a week in advance and we always buy our tickets once we're there. If we do this do we get magic bands at all and if yes, would I try and make my fast pass reservations once I've bought the tickets and I'm already on site? Is there anyway to make fast pass reservations without having a reservation number? Thank you so much!

You can't make fastpass reservations until you have tickets linked to your account.

You will only get free magic bands if you are staying onsite.

I will be staying onsite. So, as soon as I make the reservations a week or so before we go i can make fast pass reservations?

Not until you have tickets.

Don't think you can order magic bands at one week out, but I could be wrong. You will still get them at check-in to use as your room key/FP+/charge to room etc., but previously they have just been the gray when received at resort. As PP mentioned, you can't make FP+ until tickets are linked to your MDE account, but once you do, you can make them for your whole trip. You can make three per day for whichever park you will be in, and once you have used those, you can try for a fourth.
