Will I get there in time?

Thanks so much everyone for the responses. I had no idea this board was so helpful.lI'm sure I'll have many more questions along the way now that I know this is the place to come for quick and varied answers to my questions!

Contrary to what @Shanti said, there is no official "grace time", especially at a busy restaurant like BOG. They MAY allow you 15 minute leeway and they may not.
I actually called WDW Dining once when concerned about difficulty being on time for an ADR, & was told by them directly that the restaurants have a 20 minute grace period. That grace period is also something I have experienced at WDW more than once. Within the context of several trips & lots of ADRs, we have been 15-20 minutes late a few times (one of them was for Ohana), and have never been turned away. That experience, combined with the Disney Dining rep's statement, convinces me that it is indeed a policy.

If possible I would make a later time. The chain of events that have to be exact would make me crazy. But on the other hand if you are up for the challenge could be exciting to play beat the clock and make it on time.

You should know better than to trust anything you are told over the phone as 100% true when it comes to how the parks run. I'm sure it is a policy as much as it can be. That is, it is policy until it becomes to hard to do, and then it isn't policy.

EVery flight we've taken we've had to take the airport monorail to just get into the same building as DME - and if your seated at or towards the back of the plane I would leave at least 1/2 hr from when plane arrives to getting on the Dme Line alone. Contemporary has always been our last stop too - poly/wl/blt/contemp. So sorry to say but not very likely. Also late Adrs can be turned away and no show fee charged

In March, we were running late day of for an ADR at Liberty Tree.

I called to find out what the "grace" period was and was told 15 minutes.

We did an Amazing Race style dash to get there in the correct time frame and I arrived panting like a crazy woman.

The person who checked us in said that once you make a reservation, they will take you no matter what time you arrive although you may end up with a wait. So, we needn't have tried to kill ourselves.

Well, in this case, the OP can get off at the first stop and monorail to MK. As long as there are no bags under the bus, they don't care where you get off.

I wouldnt count on that - where some Cms may be lenient others may not

I was told it was policy but not well known.

Well out of a handful of posters 2 people have been told the grace period is 2 different things. Not exactly what I would find comforting or reliable.

I'm also thinking if it was policy Disney would be sure every CM in every restaurant was aware. It is something they would want well known, right?

ON THE PHONE, I was told the grace period was 15 minutes. AT THE RESTAURANT, they reassured me that even if we had been late, we still would have been seated even if we showed up hours later.

I am simply reporting what I was told.

Your snark is not necessary.

And no, I don't see how they would want that well known.

For as much as I love the information I've gotten on this board over the past 17 years or so, I am too often reminded about why I stay away for long periods of time.

I'm sorry you thought I was being snarky. I assure you I wasn't. The only one to be upset with is Disney. For not having clear, published policies.

Hm, I thought the ADR finder sites were shut down after last years fiasco.

Anyway, OP, I don't think you answered the question of if you were using the Magical Express or not. If you are, then heed the caution of others. There is no set "route" for the DME buses. You could be the first or last stop, and if your plane is late or DME is being held up, you'll be SOL.

So, I'll say this... It's doable, but with so many variables in play, it's not something I'd chance missing. If you're able to back things up an hour or so, that'd be better to give you some breathing room.

I agree, this is the best way to begin a vacation stressed out. One thing goes wrong and the entire plan goes bust.

OP- I would try for a later ADR, and if I could not get one I would cancel this one. In december we waited about an hour to check into DME, the lines were that long! You just cannot tell if you will be one in that line.

Also, the advice about being allowed entry if you run late is subjective. BOG is in a league of it's own: this is one of the most sought after restaurants on Disney property, adn as such, may not have that "unofficial" grace policy on your day. I would not chance it. It is one thing to run into a situation that causes an unexpected delay, btu quite another to plan an ADR so tightly that one little glitch can topple it. The stress alone of having to get somewhere so close to the arrival would send my vacation into stressed before it even started.

We just got back from the World and we had the once in a lifetime fast transportation to BWV's. Our plane LANDED at 1:50 pm and we walked in the lobby at 2:05 pm. That is by far the fastest we ever made it to a Disney resort. But let me add some disclaimers, we were sitting in row 5 of the plane so we were off in like 2 mins, we are all adults so we walk fairly quickly, we only stopped for a 30 second bathroom break, when we got to DME we were waved right on to the bus, as soon as we sat down the bus left, there was no traffic and BWV was the first stop. Talk about everything working out !!

But don't get too jealous, on our way home our flight was delayed almost 3 hours because of weather in PHL. So we sat in the airport from 11:20 am to 4:00 pm. My DS says we were paying for having such a great arrival trip !

I think you have a error in there somewhere. I don't think you can drive from the airport to the Boardwalk in less than 15 minutes. Unless your driver was going 100 mph.

I too think something is amiss with your times. The ride( only) from MCO to BWV is about 30 minutes.

3:05 or 2:05?

I think it's very doable!! Most of our trips we've landed and were at the resort in less than 90 minutes and then you have a quick 10 minute walk to MK. Yes, there are many variables, but the big plus is the walk from Contemporary and not having to wait for a bus to MK. There have been a few times that it's taken longer..... we try to allow about 2 1/2 hours from scheduled landing time to any plan to be somewhere..... and probably good to keep checking for a bit later ADR. But if you are set on BOG I wouldn't cancel it.
