Will I get better airfare Thanksgiving Day or day after? Any Thanksgiving air tips?

I might have to change my travel plans & it looks like our new plans are going to coincide w/ Thanksgiving. Do you think I would find better fares on Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving? Any tips to traveling at Thanksgiving???

I've noticed that from my area Thanksgiving Day seems to have the cheapest fares. That being said, the best fares are pretty last-minute. Only a few days in advance. Don't know if you're planning on travelling for the actual Thanksgiving weekend or not. But fares are usually pretty high Thanksgiving week and don't drop again until the Tues. after.

I have not flown on Thanksgiving day personally, but my parents have. Their reason was because it was cheaper than the day before or after. The logic behind this was that most people either want to be somewhere for Thanksgiving or wait to go just after and not actually travel on Thanksgiving. Most airline websites offer an option during a search for airfare. Just check that your dates are flexable, ie day before, day after.

We flew from Boston to Orlando on Thanksgiving Day last year. Our airfare was much cheaper than if we had flown the day before or the day after!! It was really quite pleasant flying that particular day. We did book as soon as we knew we were going to WDW.

Yes, Thanksgiving day is cheaper then the day before or after in my experience but I'd still book it early as it will certainly go up and fill up seeing as it's a holiday.
