Will I get a room at SSR 11 months out

during the 1st week or two of December? We're thinking about joining DVC (SSR) and that is the main time we will want to go each year. Don't want to take the plunge if getting the room is going to be so hard. We'd be looking at studio or 1 bedroom.

Kari,
Booking at your home resort at 11 months is always going to be your best bet for getting the room that you want. I gather that the first two weeks of December are popular with DVC members due to low points and holiday decorations, but I would be very shocked if an SSR owner couldn't get a room at SSR at 11 months out.

I think that owners at the smaller resorts can have some trouble during the 11-7 month booking window over the very busiest of days. SSR being a larger resort, though probably fills more slowly than some of the others and doesn't seem to have that "idealized time" that VWL has at Christmas and BC and BWV have during Food & Wine festival, for instance.

I am 99.9 percent sure that if you call at 11 months for a room at SSR, you will get it.

We got a studio at SSR from Dec 18-22nd without doing day by day with no problem.

My advice to anyone wherever they own is if you want NYE book on the first day possible at opening

I agree with the 99.9% chance post. A resort that size will not book up before the 7 month window. 11 months out will be no problem. I wouldn't even call day by day, just call for the entire stay 11 months from your check out date.

Hope this helps. This is why" buy where you want to stay" is good solid advice. Use of the 11 month window is always advised to ensure your place at WDW. You can always switch resorts at 7 months if you so choose.

We added on at VWL this year, and I was able to get a studio for a week in early December at about 9 months. You shouldn't have a problem with SSR.

I can see where day by day booking may be necessary for standard view at BWV or booking BCV, but for that time period at OKW, I have never had to book day by day. I doubt it will be necessary to book day by day at SSR, given the sheer size of the resort...but definitely book during your 11 month window.

Boy, if that is your biggest concern with DVC, you will love it.

You will have no trouble booking anytime of the year at SSR if you call at the 11-month mark.

I agree - can't imagine how you could possibly FAIL to get a unit at SSR if you book when the 11 month window opens.

We bought in August at SSR and booked 3rd week in December 2 days after we bought I got a 2 bedroom for a week with no problem. I don't know if they treated me different because I was new, or not. But at 11 months you will have no problem.

11 - months out at SSR is almost guaranteed... It would be hard to believe you wouldn't get what you wanted.
