Will I be able to get to Poly on time?

We will be staying at POR. We have a photo session set up for 8am at the Poly. We are going in Sept. The web site says that MK has EMH at 8 that morning so taking a bus to Mk and then the monorail over to the Poly should be doable right? What time do the buses start running on EMH mornings? I thought about getting a cab, but there are 6 of us, a wheelchair and a stroller so the buses really work best for us.

I was going to suggest you take the boat (launch) from MK to the Poly but with a wheelchair and stroller the monorail will be the best way to go.

What day of the week is it that you have to get to the Poly at 8am? The monorail is still on a maintenance schedule, so on Monday and Tuesdays (pretty sure those are the days), the resort monorail beam doesn't start running until 8:30am. Last November I had to get to Poly and GF for 7:30am breakfast ADR's and both days happened to be when the monorail wasn't running until 8:30am so I took a cab and it was so much easier, quicker and pretty cheap.

If you aren't going on Mon or Tues, you should be okay to get there on time. The buses start running at 6:30am.

Honestly, working with something like a photo session, I would be too nervous to rely on the bus and boat/monorail. Yes, they do start running early enough. But, really early they are more sporadic than they are later. It would be rather easy to miss the first early bus and be waiting. Even though you have a stroller/wheelchair, etc I would arrange a cab. In this case, not Uber/Lyft but a cab-van so you can get everyone loaded and there on time, and not frazzled looking for a very nice (and I believe costly) photo session.

Yes.

I'm not positive but pretty sure that the Express Monorail does not start earlier for EMH, since resort Guests are expected to be arriving on Disney Transport. There will be buses running in place of the Resrt Monorail, but of course they generally take longer,

If taking the bus to MK with a w/c, this is a case where I would definitely ask the driver for assistance in getting to Poly. There's a better than usual chance that you would either be dropped off or put on a connecting bus.
