My DH only has light colored suits all are new and only been worn a couple of times but he does not own a dark suit.Should we buy him a black suit or do you think he will be fine in a light colored suit. How many of your Hs have worn another color of suit besides black or blue.He bought these suits because he says everyone has dark suits and he did not want to be like everyone else:rolleyes: .Btw, He does look Awesome in the suit though:earseek:

My DH is taking his khaki summer weight pants, blue jacket and the mickey tie he was married in! I would think on a cruise that summer type suits would be fine.

Will he be frowned on?

The way some folks talk on here it wouldn't matter WHAT you wear and they'd frown at you. :p

Fortunately that is a small minority. A light coloured suit would be fine and don't concern yourself about it. Enjoy and forget about what others think.

Cheers,

I agree 100%. In all of our 12 cruises on many different lines, the only thing my husband will wear is a blue sportcoat and khaki pants for formal nights. Yes, this is his idea of formal and I'd have to say he looks sharp as a tack!! I like to wear long gowns and sparkly dresses and I surely don't feel out of place with him! I think we make a great looking couple! Wear whatever makes you comfortable and don't worry about what anyone else thinks!
People come from all walks of life and a cruise sure draws them all!

You know of all the cruises we've been on formal night worries are one of the last things we deal with! As long as we arent wearing jeans at dinner or shorts and look appropriate considering the evening "dress" code..we could care less what people think about us. If you only own a light color suit who cares? If you only have one really nice dress who cares? Chances are 90 percent of these people you wont see again and if a light color suit or not wearing tuxedos ruins their cruise then they need to get a life! I wouldnt give it a 2nd thought. Light, Dark, Suit, Tux...life's too short to worry about that stuff...just go enjoy yourself with what you have!

A nice shirt and pants is all you need.
Leave the suit at home unless you have the 830 seating which seems to be more formal

We have only been on the 7 night, which sounds like it is dressier than the Wonder cruises. During the 3 cruises we've been on, we've seen the good & the bad... On our 4/2002 cruise, a gentleman wore a dress kilt & looked absolutely great!

There were a few guys in the dining room with T shirts & bowling shirts on formal night on our Nov. cruise. It's one thing if your luggage was lost... , but it is formal night...

Bringing some type of dress clothes to wear on the dressier nights shows you have respect for your hosts. Don't worry about the color of the suit! The fact he looks awesome in the suit to you is all that matters!

Your husband will look great. Go & have a wonderful time!

But, why would you care what everyone else thinks...? Obviously your husband bought the suit because (#1) he liked it, and (#2) he didnt want to be the same as everyone else.
He sounds like he is his own person, :) So let him be just that, and HAVE FUN!!!::yes::

Good Luck, and be sure to show us a pic when you get back with him in the suit:teeth:
