Will fast pass+ be a dud for our trip?

Ok so we don't receive our tickets until upon arrival. So we can't access fast pass+ so I'm assuming that there won't be many selections like the dining reservation seeing how dining most everything has been boomed 3months before our trip? So will fast pass+ be worth even trying day of or day before?:confused3

I was in same situation. Used cast member gate pass in September. We could only book fast pass at the kiosk on the day of.
It went very well. It was quite uncrowded in the parks, so that was of course a big help.

Since you don't have a choice, my advice would be to not worry about it.
You have to go in with the attitude that whatever you get from fp plus is a bonus. That took us far.

Not 3 months before your trip for fp+, 60 days is the window for on site, 30 for off site. But yes, there are just a couple of rides that most likely will be unavailable to reserve fp+ for. But just a very few.

I expect adr's will be very difficult to find, but those were gone months ago. We couldn't find an adr for our last 2 trips booked just under 2 months out. There are lots of nice quick service restaurants, I wouldn't let that bother me much.

FP+ will be worth trying, especially if you can do day before. What we've found is that even the day before, other than parades, fireworks, TSMM and 7dmt at MK, most everything was available. Those you can ride at rope drop to reduce you standby times. Even same day, if you can get in early will get you much the same selections.

You can't do anything about it, so go and enjoy! I know you probably read a lot of posts on this forum claiming "everything" is gone at 30 days, but it's just not true.. and there are people who report lucking out and getting fp+ for the hot rides same day. You never know!

I'd definitely say it is worth trying. You may not get the new mine train or Anna and Elsa, but from everything I've read many, if not most, other rides seem to be available day of. I would probably set my expectations low and be happily surprised if I could get everything I wanted, but I would definitely use the system

You don't have to wait until you get there to make ADRs. When we were there this summer DD used a CM pass at Epcot and they got FPs for the rides they wanted on the day of. Now I know MK is a totally different animal, so good luck and have fun. No worries.

MK is probably the easiest to get sdfp for other than 7dmt. Good catch on the adr's, I totally missed that!

You don't need tickets to book ADRs. You can book them 180 days out just like everyone else.

Why aren't you receiving tickets until arrival? Even if you have will call tickets you can still link them to your MDE to make FP+.

I didn't get the impression the OP thought they needed tx for ADRs...but that they'd been trying to book ADRs since 3 months out (which would be Sept if the OP's trip is December as by his name says), and they are finding much of what they wanted, adr wise, to be booked. I got the impression that because they've had a hard time booking ADRS for their trip, that was what was concerning them about availability for fp+ same day.

You also don't need the actual ticket to make FP+. If they're purchased, there is usually a code you can enter to get access.

We are going for a family conference being held within WDW and as a perk we are being giving tickets upon arrival (its a medical conference) and the people who supply the tickets don't want to end up wasting the tickets. So we know we will get them but not until arrival
~to add to the mix to spice it up 2 in our group will be buying their tickets this month, yet sadly the two that will be receiving and the two that are buying aren't in same split up group. So will have one going to MK one going to HS so they can use the fast pass+ but they don't want to until we all can I respect that though.

As for dining reservations we know we don't need tickets for that, we've been trying for the last three months refreshing hoping our time frames would find an open window for somewhere seeing how we have never ate in a sit down service restraint before

~I was just scared because I've heard that if you don't have fast pass + you won't get to do anything that now you have to have it for even characters and if you don't they won't see u.~

You got it exactly right!! :cheer2:If the dining have been booked since May it seemed slim that any attractions would be available*:confused3

*Will be in the park Dec 20th*

Also I know all of this is just extra icing on the cake and I'm honestly through the roof about the trip just trying to iron out last few details lol*pixiedust:

Sorry you got some bad information on that- I hope the responses you've gotten put your mind at ease a bit. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Btw- if anyone in your group happens to have a Disney Visa- you can get a great character meet n greet at Epcot along with a free 5x7 photo. We've never run into long lines there and every time we went Mickey has always been there with a combination of a couple of others. Its an easy way to get a Mickey meet without a long line.
