Will DVC resorts offer Joffrey coffee too?

I just read a thread on the Theme Park board which stated that WDW resorts/parks were switching the Nescafe coffee to Joffrey's! Yay!!! I absolutely hated the Nescafe stuff and never drank it at the resorts. Now, I'm pretty sure that the beverage areas at the resorts will be switching but what do you think they'll give us in the rooms? The packets which I have used in the rooms weren't Nescafe....but I didn't care for them either and have been "lugging" my mini Keurig through airports (LOL) so that we could have a good cup of coffee in our room every morning. The WDW Magic site also has an article about the coffee change.

From the information I can find, yes the in room coffee will be from Joffrey's also.

The post from the main site (WDWInfo) gives basic info:
Products from Joffrey's Coffee and Tea Co. will be replacing the Nescafe Coffee found in the Disney theme parks and Disney Vacation Club properties. Guests at Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort have often complained about the quality of the coffee, so presumably this will be a welcome change. The company will also produce special blends designed just for the Disney locations. Guests will be able to purchase these products to take home as well. The change should occur within the next few months; the new agreement does not affect the addition of Starbucks to the theme parks.

Joffrey's Coffee will be replacing Nescafe as the standard coffee served throughout the parks and resorts at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

But I found more info at another site:

During the next few months, Joffrey's will become the standard coffee offered at all Disney owned and operated locations, which will include quick service and table service restaurants, along with the in-room coffee at moderate and deluxe resorts. As part of the agreement, Joffrey's will be producing unique blends just for Disney locations.

Joffrey's has already been operating their speciality coffee kiosks in the parks for a number of years, and has also been supplying espresso and other coffees for the signature dining locations at the parks and resorts.

This expanded agreement with Joffrey's does not replace or impact the introduction of Starbucks Coffee to each of the parks.

DVC News.com also reports that the DVC Resorts will get Joffrey's Coffee in the rooms:
In the coming months, Joffrey's brand coffee will replace Nescafe as the beverage-of-choice throughout Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

The Joffrey's brand will be offered at all Disney-owned Table Service and Quick Service restaurants, and within Disney guest rooms including Disney Vacation Club villas.

Joffrey's already operates a number of stand-alone kiosks withn the parks. Among those locations are coffee stands at the EPCOT theme park entrance, the entrance to Disney's Animal Kingdom and adjacent to Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Joffrey's intends to develop blends exclusively for the Disney theme parks. Guests will be provided with the opportunity to purchase additional product for use at home.

This deal does not impact the planned addition of Starbucks outlets at domestic Disney theme parks.

Michael, thanks for collecting and posting all of that info. I am one who brought my own coffee because Disney coffee only worked in times of complete desperation! ;) :teeth:

Looking forward to extra space in my luggage, LOL!

No problem. I'll still take my Keurig Mini. It's easy for me since we live less than an hour away and I'm the only coffee drinker. I also bring the in room coffee home and give them to a co-worker.

Thanks for the info erionm. I'm so glad that we can now get a decent cup of coffee. Have to decide if I still want to bring my mini keurig for our tea, hot chocolate etc....it's not as heavy as the regular size but it's still heavy LOL!

I was pleased to hear about the Nescafe going away. I've probably had Joffrey's at some point (maybe in an airport somewhere?) but I don't recall what it was like. I'm certain it's a huge improvement over Nescafe though.

People complained about Nescafe for so long, I didn't think we'd ever see it go. :)

Wasn't Joffrey's signature coffee also served @ places like California Grill, or was I just dreaming?

:rolleyes1 Sometimes change is good ... even great! I am not a fan of the Nescafe coffee - always wondered why Disney was serving it. (And then made sure to go somewhere else for my coffee, lol)

Ever heard of the -10 to zero scale? :lmao:

With Nescafe being at the -10 end of the scale, even a -9 would be an improvement at this point.

Never heard of Joffrey's, but then again; I've never seen Nescafe served anywhere except Disney so we're not necessarily making a wholesale improvement here.

Any hint as to when it is going to happen? We had a family gathering last week at BLT and the coffee drinkers were horrified by the NesCafe coffee in the room. Trips to the Contempo Cafe were worth the hike each morning.

You've probably had their coffee.:-) It's at signature restaurants in WDW, and they have coffee carts through the place.

I, for one, don't want any of that Lannister swill...

(Game of Thrones reference, you either get this or you won 't...)
