Disney just announced extended hours will start in Oct for "deluxe resort guests" On the Disney page there are "Deluxe Resort Hotels" and "Deluxe Villas". Will Deluxe Villa guests count as Deluxe Resort Guests" Will it be both points and cash at Deluxe villas?

I assume this includes DVC - we loved night time EMH. Will be super salty if DVC not included but what else could villas mean? Unless it’s only guests paying cash to stay in villas?

I think this will include staying on points at DVC resorts but we'll just have to wait for clarification. This would be a pretty big selling point for them if it's more than just like once a month or something. I also hope this will last for at least the full 18-month 50th anniversary.

The POS mentions that as onsite guests we are eligible for things offered to other onsite guests.

So, as long as it’s offered to some onsite, I think we are eligible. Plus it mentions deluxe villas which are booked by DVC points most of the time.

It is a nice addition to have!

I am torn on this one. While I am excited for this since we own DVC, this is a kick in the pants to cash guests staying at values, moderates and the campground. Some of those rooms are not cheap by any means. I personally think WDW should open this up to all on-site guest, not the good neighbor resorts. Give everyone staying on site a bonus.

I do agree … a night at Caribbean beach runs over $300+ a night these days. That’s where we stayed before DVC and we shelled out quite a bit of money to stay there. I wish everyone on site was extended the benefit.

I think they intentionally used the phrase "Disney Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resort hotels" to mean all guests staying at the Deluxe resorts and the DVC resorts, whether paying by cash or points. It's not a DVC perk, it's a Deluxe resort perk - meaning that DH and I won't be eligible in November, when we're staying offsite (horrors!), and we wouldn't be eligible if we were staying at Pop, as we sometimes do when out of points.

I totally agree. Really, and especially if you’re driving a car, I don’t see any perk to staying on-site now unless you’re deluxe.

From what I could tell starting October 1st, they will have early morning hours every morning at ALL parks for ALL Disney resort guests and evening extended hours only on specific nights for Deluxe Resort and Deluxe Villa Resort guests (includes DVC and cash guests staying at these resorts).

ahhh… that’s makes sense. The phrasing felt like there was going to be a separation of those staying at a DVC resort on points vs cash - I am super cynical granted.

your explanation/interpretation makes way more sense!

That's a moderate-level rate for Disney these days. My family did book Caribbean Beach for $79 a night once........30 years ago.

Look at the rates for deluxe resorts now. You're lucky to get any deluxe room in the $300 range without a good discount.
