Will DVC count as a "Deluxe Resort" for extended park hours

I totally agree. Really, and especially if you’re driving a car, I don’t see any perk to staying on-site now unless you’re deluxe.

Early entry in all parks every day.

That basically allows you to get through the top 2 rides at rope drop with minimal wait before the masses.

Also the 30 mins likely will be closer to 45 early still if I have to guess.

Example for AK you will be out of FOP before the off-site is even let in.

Staying offsite essentially eliminates rope Drop.

This would be awesome for our October trip. I hope they announce days soon cause I would need to rearrange our Parks Reservations to take advantage of this.
I was thinking the same thing except we are going in March! But I already made park reservations and this is likely going to cause changes!

Yeah, I hadn’t seen the early entry when I posted. That would be a benefit for us since we much prefer early mornings to late nights-but I think we may be in the minority.

I am torn on this one. While I am excited for this since we own DVC, this is a kick in the pants to cash guests staying at values, moderates and the campground. Some of those rooms are not cheap by any means. I personally think WDW should open this up to all on-site guest, not the good neighbor resorts. Give everyone staying on site a bonus.
I feel the same way. It just seems like a move toward more of a class system at Disney. IMO, the only benefit of staying at a deluxe resort should be the nicer room. Everyone staying at ANY Disney resort should be on level playing ground when entering the parks. Just my two cents.

We have Epcot reservations on Oct 1st. Interesting to see if this works to get on to Remy early. That would be icing on the cake for us.

I don’t like it.. it’s a class system, it reeks of … dare I use the word privileges for only deluxe guests. I’d prefer it if it were DVC only atleast one could justify that these guests already paid in handsomely for the perk.
I DISagree with levels of Entitlement based on which resort chosen.. or for that case.. is even available.
that being said, it actually won’t affect us often if at all as we choose deluxe but it definitely Bothers me. Certainly not INclusive for All Disney Resort Guests… ur labeled as Deluxe or Nothing :(

There would be zero financial motive, in fact quite the opposite, for Disney to incur regular operating costs for DVC only EMH. They do the Moonlight Magic. The intention of this is to drive demand for deluxe resorts and will probably cause an increase in price in those resorts as it will drive demand, particularly if it’s very regular - say multiple times per week.

Amenities differ based on hotel class regardless of whether it’s Disney or not. If I want certain perks or amenities, then I can opt to stay at a nicer hotel that has them, but pay the higher rate. If all that‘s offered is a clean room, but no extras or perks, then the rate will typically be commensurate with the lack of amenities.

Businesses are going to do what they need to draw guests and as consumers, we spend our dollars where we want.

This is a nice perk, finally something they are adding instead of taking away. It will be interesting to see how long and how many time they offer it.
Except that technically speaking they didn't add it. They took the perk away during the pandemic and are just reinstating it, but only for the deluxe and villas guests.

That's a moderate-level rate for Disney these days. My family did book Caribbean Beach for $79 a night once........30 years ago.

Look at the rates for deluxe resorts now. You're lucky to get any deluxe room in the $300 range without a good discount.

Hey, we were at CBR at the same time 😎🏝. I think we went through AAA and the agent had never seen the rate that low. thankful we are DVC Member’s and can continue vacationing at Disney world resorts

I just don’t really understand the anger of the people calling this new perk “classist”. Disney is a for-profit company and has the right to incentivize people to do things that will earn them more money. It’s not a nonprofit or public institution who’s main goal is to keep things fair and equitable.

I feel like this is just the way life goes generally, you spend more and typically get more, or something nicer. For example: spend more on plane tickets, you can sit first class; spend more on a fancy meal, you can get a nice steak rather than a hamburger at McDonald’s.

Disney is already offering additional experiences for those who can afford them such as concierge rooms, VIP tours. I don’t see how adding perks for staying deluxe is any different.

I’ll say what I’ve said on other threads-I think it’s really ok for folks to say “I used to get this for my money and you took it away and that makes me unhappy”. Can disney do it? Of course they can. But they offered it to all onsite guests before and now are offering it to fewer folks-they sure aren’t going to lower their ticket prices or the cost of on-site stays to make up for removing a perk. People get to be disappointed about that.

This isn't a Perk for DVC. ANYONE staying at the designated resorts qualifies regardless if they belong to DVC or not.

Yup, or the Magic Kingdom club discount. I recall we decided it wasn't worth $89 for the water view so we saved the 10 bucks for other stuff.

The deluxe rooms are barely better than value as it is. At these prices, I see no problem offering some sort of premium advantage. That's just how business works. People "feeling" that guests staying at value resorts "deserve" the same experience is irrelevant. EMH was already overcrowded to the point of being just a slightly later closing time as it was, so this should restore it to a more worthwhile offering.

I agree that people have a right to their feelings about Disney taking this perk away from all onsite guests (and some neighboring hotel guests) only to give it back to a select group. Every time Disney takes another perk away from guests, it bothers me.

What I don't agree with is the implications by some that this is some type of class warfare. There are plenty of upper-income folks who enjoy the value resorts (I know quite a few) and in contrast there are a lot of middle-income people who save up to be able to pay for that deluxe resort stay. I dislike seeing words like "peasants" being flung around as if Disney regards those guests with a level of derision as much as I cringe when I read someone remarking that if you want deluxe perks, then you somehow need to work harder, save more or just get a better job.
