Will DLP hotels help you make a trip special? Can you request extras in a room? if so

As we are going for DD birthday and getting there late on the first night we thought it might be nice to have something waiting for her when we get there, in the hotel room. Maybe a balloon, or Minnie Ears, cupcakes or whatever but not sure what people's experiences are of the DLP hotels and special extras! Thank you!

if you ask for something specific, they will charge you to put it in your room.

Often what people do is buy what you want here (its cheaper than at DLP, even if you buy at the Disney Store here) then one of you pops to the room when you get the key while your DD is distracted (ie take her to the toilets, or there are usually little child play areas near reception at the hotels) and pop her surprises on her bed, then when she comes in she will find them there .
