Will Disney be bringing back Captain EO???

TDSAXX- have you seen the court documents? Do you even know what their accusations were? Have you done any research at all? Did you even read my post?
Yeah they didn't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt because the accusations were absolutely RIDICULOUS and no sane person in the world would believe that MJ decided to molest this child AFTER the Bashir documentary came out and after the entire world was already pointing their fingers at MJ as molesting that child already, not to mention the family doing the accusing were documented extortionists/fraud/etc. (before and after MJ's case, btw) Their accusations were that AFTER the documentary, after CPS was called in, after the entire media-world already thought him guilty of something with that boy- THEN is when he decided to molest the boy (and hold them hostage at Neverland- even though the family left at will for trips to dentists, to get waxing done, shopping, etc.) The entire thing is completely laughable- which is why the jury laughed!
(research it, seriously)

I believe in innocent until proven guilty. He was not found guilty- therefore he still should be considered innocent. The fact that many in the U.S. now feel it's guilty (if we think/feel you are) until proven innocent is an abomination IMO.

The fact that Iger (and others) bow down to the media-driven world we live in now, is sad. IMO

Dznefreek- thank you.. I agree! And that's just the tip of the iceberg... if Disney did not align themselves with any actor, entertainer, singer, artist, executive, etc. that had ever been even ACCUSED (and not found guilty) of any crime- there would be no Disney anymore. Period.

Well... either you misunderstood Iger skirting the issue to keep it quiet- or Iger lied.

cause Captain EO is coming back to Disneyland Feb 2010.
I'll refrain from saying I told you so. ;)

I'd be doing a happy dance if I was sure we'd get to see it. But unless they keep it at DL for atleast a year OR they bring it to WDW as well... we won't be able to see it. Our vacation plans are already all figured out unti 2011 and they don't include DL until 2011. :(

Here's what Bob Iger said in the L.A. Times blog entry (dated September 10, 2009) at http://travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/index.php/iger-no-plans-to-bri-5337/

“There aren’t plans to bring back ‘Captain EO’ at this time,” Iger said. “We are looking at it. It’s the kind of thing that, if we did it, would get a fair amount of attention and we’d want to make sure we do it right.”

The headline was: "Iger: No plans to bring ‘Captain EO’ back to Disneyland."

I'd call that a sloppy headline by someone at the L.A. Times, not a lie from Bob Iger.

Iger clearly said that they were looking at bringing back Captain EO, and but there weren't any plans yet "at this time" (September 2009).

Back in September they were considering it, but there was not yet a firm "yea" or "nay" decision. I'm sure they had to consider technical issues with reinstallation of the film and its special effects, their relationship with the attraction's sponsor (Kodak), whether it made business sense to spend the money, and even potential PR issues.

Now, more than three months later, there are official, announced plans.
