We will be there next week :-)

Planned to stay 2 days on MK, 2 days on Epcot, 1 day on MGM - wondering if we should go to AK with DD2, is she too young? Just afraid she will be scared... if not going to AK, we will spend an extra day inMK, just in case March break is too crowded.

P.S. My definition of "day" could be a few hours only, plan to go to park in the morning, and return to resort around 3pm for DD2 to take a nap.

I think it depends on your DD. My DD will be almost 3 this time, and last year was 23 months. She LOVED the safari, the treks, the drummers in Africa, and the meet and greets at Camp Minnie Mickey were great. She is all excited this time and cannot wait to go there and see the "aminals." :teeth:

Of course, my little one is very brave...she also wants to go on Everest, TOT, Dinosaur (because they say ROAR), and Rock N Roller Coaster. She is very bummed she is not big enough yet. :lmao:

We love AK, lots to see. But the plan to only stay a few hours and then take a break is good, it always seems hotter there to me. :confused3
So we always take the kids back for a rest midday.

We've found that a great time to go to AK is about two hours before closing. Most of the people we see are exiting the park at that time and therefore, the park is more manageable. DD may enjoy it more without the crowds and you'll be able to see more. Have fun!!!

Last year when DD was 2 she seemed to have a good time at AK. I am not sure the park made a bug impression though. You should be able to find enough to do with her for a couple of hours... Boneyard, Triceratops spin, she may enjoy seeing some of the animals.

I think its TOTALLY worth taking your DD2 to AK.

1. Kilamajaro Safari

2. Camp Minnie & Mickey

3. Boneyard Dig

4. Triceratops spin

5. Lion King

6. Pocohantas show

7. Birds of Flight show

8. Train to Rafiki's Planet Watch

9. Petting zoo at Rafiki's Planet Watch

10. Pangani Forest Exploration Trail

10. Maharajah Jungle Trek

11.There are tons of areas with animals and birds along pretty pathways throughout the park.

12. Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade

13. Devine

I probably could name more, but you get the idea. I love AK and I took my son when he was 18 months old. We had fun as a family there!

My nephew was two when we went to AK and he really enjoyed it....he especially LOVED Festival of the Lion King and the Jammin' Jungle parade. I think your DD would enjoy a few hours at AK, if you go just in the afternoon you could see FOTLK, (BEST show at WDW) stop over at Camp Minnie Mickey and then catch the Jammin' Jungle parade.

Definitely go. AK isn't a scary place overall and she won't be going on Dinosaur. :) There is a lot of fun stuff for little ones - the animals and the Boneyard alone probably would have kept DD going for more than a few hours when she was 2.

When my DD was 18 months we went to WDW and AK was her favorite park!

She loved: Safari Trek (fast pass it)
Festival of the Lion King (danced in the bleachers w/every song)
Dino Dig (but it was hot so only lasted a few minutes in it)
and most of all...we had a magical time dancing and playing w/all the characters from Camp Mickey Minnie...they came up their trails during the LK show and all played w/just my kids for what seemed like forever.

Now, I would NEVER think to take one that young in Tough to be a Bug, Dinosaur, or Kali River, but you can babyswap if you want to do those.

The park my DD liked the LEAST at that age was EPCOT, so you might rethink the 2 days there...outside of the water fountains to play in and the fish to see, she had very little to do during that time in EPCOT.
