Will cost / incentives for direct be better in the future than today?

Question....looking to buy 150 direct points. Can I assume that the cost will not be any lower than it is today?

Has history shown that Disney may issue incentives in the future that net a lower $ per point vs today?

Thinking that if I ever want to have points to be able to use in future resorts, prices can only go up right?

I wouldn’t expect that direct prices will ever go backwards. As far as some incentives, maybe. Here’s the direct pricing of original price per point and 2018-20198D11E6F5-7A98-45EA-A427-72D34E872F11.jpeg

Prices are going up next month for 7 resorts, according to multiple reports. So even if the rebates are higher in the future (certainly possible) it seems unlikely to me that the net price will be lower. Not impossible of course, but unlikely.

I agree. You may get an incentive that brings it down a couple of more dollars per point, but the more likely scenario is just up.

There have been times that bigger incentives have been offered and effective prices end up lower than they were in the past but that's the exception and not the norm.

I asked this question before my direct purchase this week and my guide said Disney direct prices don’t ever go down aside from incentives that might bring the price down. But I was purchasing a small contract anyway so the incentives didn’t apply to me.

This is true, unfortunately.

99.9999% correct. One time they decreased the price of Vero Beach. I think it was $5/pt.

To add to this, sometimes if incentives bring the price down it is at much higher levels.

For example, this summer, 300 points got RIV down to $155/point which was one of the lowest..if not the lowest.

So, at lower levels not likely, but higher ones, maybe!

All of the resorts will go down in price eventually, but probably not until there are only eight or nine years remaining on the contract. That’s a long wait.
