Will characters personalize autographs?

Our 3 year old next door neighbor is the hugest Minnie fan. On our upcoming trip my kids want to get her (and her brothers) little gifts. I thought an autograph would make it extra special and a personalized autograph may send this little girl over the moon.

I don't think they will. Perhaps the 'face characters' who can actually converse with guests may be more willing/able.


Why don't you make a special autograph card with a pre printed message at home, take it with, have it signed by the character and then you could have it framed, buy a cute little purse/bag to put it in etc? That would make more sense to me and that way, at least you don't risk the disappointment of being refused and ending up with a "now what?!" situation for a gift at the end of your trip I'm also thinking that because she's just 3, extra writing is not really going to be of much value. Sure the signature is - but you could jazz it up with some age appropriate images and make the whole page/card fun - then all you need is the signature

I think a proper, signed autograph would be special - the OP could get a photo of Minnie actually signing the card to give to the little one

My experiences has been depending on how busy lines are.. If the lines are leisurely, they will accommodate..

my sister was there on my birthday last year and wrote out a sign that said "happy birthday danielle" and took pictures of characters holding it...
and then last time i was there i asked some of the princesses to say hi to my niece and nephew in little short video on my phone....

Minnie most likely will not, but I have seen it happen from fur characters before. As 2Tiggies said, face characters will usually personalize an autograph if they are not swamped. Heck, a lot of the time, they ask your name and do it without you even asking them! It doesn't hurt to try, regardless! Try and catch them at the slower times of the day if you can.

OP, this is exactly what I did back in April. I had a friend who was taking a trip in May, and since it was her kids' first visit, she was freaking out over whether or not they'd have a good time. I got the idea to create a letter addressed to each child from their favorite character and have that character sign it if I managed to meet them during my trip. Both kids loved Cinderella, which made things pretty easy. I just picked a fancy font to type up the letter in, kept the letters folded in my autograph book, and when the time came, asked Cinderella if she could help me send some pixie dust to a little prince and princess back home. She was more than happy to help. My friend said her kids were thrilled with the letters, and it really got them excited for their trip. Her son, who just turned 3, kept kissing the letter and the photo I sent.

We will be a Chef Mickey's so I know we will see Minnie there. Not sure if that is a "too busy" scenario. I guess it can't hurt to ask.


I was thinking of trying to get the autograph on whatever gift we decide to buy for her, like a bag or purse. Any other gift ideas that would be good for a signature? And I will definitely get a pic of Minnie with the gift.

This is actually a good idea. If Minnie can't personalize it, I made add the "To Aubrey" part myself, as if I am just adding a label to it, not trying to fraudulently be Minnie.

I got a Tinkerbelle to sign a special message to DD last year when her tooth fell out in WDW. She was happy to, I did wait on a line for it without DD, while DH had her on a ride.

We've had Princesses quickly look at the front of DD's autograph book for her name to talk to her and use it in their autographs. It always amazes her how they know her name!! I guess it depends on moods.
