Will Bush "flip flop" on the Harriet Miers nomination?

One of President Bush's strengths in the eyes of his conservative base is the fact that he is resolute in his decisions and does what he believes is right for the country, regardless of public opinion. As anyone knows who has picked up a newspaper in the past few days, Harriet Miers is under an all out assault from the Right who are afraid that she will not be tough enough on everyone's favorite Supreme Court litmus test, Roe v. Wade. What is your take on the call from many hard line Conservatives for Bush to flip flop and either pull her name or ask her to step asside, which he absolutely refuses to do right now?

I think he's going to go ahead, without a doubt. I saw a press conference this week saying she was the absolute best candidate he could find (a bit of an insult to those more qualified I say...).

I find her to be an interesting candidate with pros and cons... Pro - she's an inspiration to women, Con - she's never been a judge Pro - he's the head of the Texas Bar, Con (to republicans) - she hasn't taken a hard line and stance on issues (Roe vs. Wade for example)

Interesting for him to say...seeing that when he brought her to the White House, she was only made Assistant Secretary. For arguement's sake, if she is so great, and good enough to now be made a member of SCOTUS only a few years later, why didn't he originally make her Attorney General, or White House Council?
