The last time we were there, the beast walked through the main room and stepped into the other rooms and then left.

Same for us, last fall. We skipped it this January and did Akershus instead.

Yes I have seen no reports that the meet in the side room has returned, only seen your experience.

Unfortunately if you google it up comes all kinds of "blogs" that with current reporting dates says you can meet him. Good to never trust anything but a few big websites.

Also if you go to the restaurant page on Disney's site there is no mention of the Beast at all. I think one reason is the costume is big, heavy and awkward so I imagine there are very few friends who can wear it. It is possible he might not even walk through.

When did you visit? I was there in August 2022, he walked through the library room and did some quick interactions, where my group was sitting. He stopped at our table, pointed at the bow in my hair and my dress and put his hand over his chest -- I think he was "blushing" lol.

I'm not sure if it was announced previously, but the new BBQ restaurant in Toy Story Land is also a set platter. Really disappointed with that one.
