Hi everyone!

I will be in Florida for winter break this year visiting my mom, who is moving down to Tampa!

I will be arriving in Florida in the afternoon December 15th and must be on a plane back by early morning January 5th and will have pretty much the entire time open.

My mom and I are planning on staying on site for 2 or 3 days. To beat the crowds, when would you suggest going? Thanks!

Any time before the 20th. After that point the holiday crowds will start to build.

OR!!! right after new years. and (hopefully) before all the brazillion tour groups arrive for january/

Initially, I thought going before Christmas would be busy, but it sounds like maybe it won't be....

My suggestion would be check what is even available on-site in your price range. That may determine for you when you will be going.

Only problem with this one is New Year's Day is on Thursday, so parks will remain crazy busy through that Sunday and she has to be on a plane on Tuesday morning.

Go as soon as you get home. The 16-19 will be GREAT. You still have MVMCP to deal with, so plan your days accordingly.

Definitely go before December 20 before the crazy Christmas crowds arrive. The 15th - 19 will have decent crowds and you can still do Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I would totally avoid December 22 - January 3 - it will be INSANE!!!

ah! good insight!!!

My son has a long college break and we're going the 13th and leaving on the 20th to be there and gone before the crowds. The busiest time will be between Christmas and New Year. Lots of people too will have Dec. 20th - January 3rd off too. Outside of that window will be less crowded than inside that window. In your case I think an early visit in your stay would be your best bet.

January won't always save you from the tour groups. Although rare I hit a major one last December during the first week.

I know. that's why I said EARLY. cause January and July are the 2 biggest south american tour group months.

but I didn't realize the placement of new years this year. as a PP stated, that whole week after will probably be more crowded than usual.
