Will be at the Swan this Friday!

Have a great time! You can go to Kimonos with the kids if you go early enough in the evening.

Walk over to Beaches and Cream on the boardwalk for some DELICIOUS ice cream sundaes!! At the Swan they have Gulliver's Grill, offering different themed buffets every night, and which also has character breakfasts (I believe.) FYI--I just found this out, wish I knew last year when I was at Swan--AAA card gives you 20% off all Swan/Dolphin restaurants.
Enjoy the pool, it's great. En route to the pool you'll walk by a Dolphin statue, if you press a button outside the circle of sand he is in water spouts out his nose! Lots of hot tubs, nice lap pools as well. I don't know if you have a balcony room but can't hurt to ask if there is one available, we got this upgrade free and enjoyed fireworks from Epcot and MK every night. (East wing facing Boardwalk) It was breathtaking. Have fun!!

Disneytrip, Thanks for the AAA 20% off Swan/Dolphin restaurants info. Didn't know that. We'll be at the Swan for the first time next Saturday. Any info from anyone is appreciated.
Also, I really couldn't decide which one to book, but I just booked the Swan because it's smaller :confused3 & I've read the parking is closer.

Thanks for this info! All this time and I didn't know that!! Is the AAA sticker on the entrance doors to the restaurants to let people who are members know about the discount?

R u serious, really, really, you can use your AAA card for 20% off at the S/D??? REALLY?? Does this include all of their restaurants?? WOW!! Who needs Disney restaurants... LOL... heck I pay for a DDE card! Would love to get some more of our money's worth from our AAA card :goodvibes I must admit though it does come in handy for those dead car batteries in FL :goodvibes :sunny:

spoon full of sugar - how old are the kids? If you really crave Jellyrolls there's always Camp Dolphin. If you want a nice "grown up" evening at one of the S/D restaurants like Blue Zoo or Shulas I believe they can stay at Camp Dolphin for free. You'll need to confirm that though, I know they did this at one time, not sure if they still do.

Otherwise, enjoy!! The Swan is our favorite!! Our home away from home!!

I just read this on a post the other day on the topic of AAA discounts in/around parks (besides discount on the obvious ticket and room). I guess the AAA book, which you can pick up at their offices, details the discounts, including Swan/Dolphin restaurants and some restaurants at DTD as well! Plus, I remember some discounts that were listed related to shopping. I'm traveling in March and really, really want to go to Swan again but am waiting on the Teacher discount, right now have POR reserved. I LOVE Swan's restaurants!

I knew Universal gave the AAA discount because I read it on AAA site but here I was at the Swan and Dolphin restaurants and didn't even know it. I wish they would let you know or post something on their door to let you know.

Enjoy!! Just returmed and loved every minute! The service is fantastic and being able to walk to EPCOT and all of the Boardwalk shops, etc. is fun. At night on the boardwalk there are magicians, jugglers, etc. that the kids might really enjoy. There are also Swan boats - paddle I think, that might be fun, although the area they are in is a little small. The kids will love the pool! A big waterfall and slide. Great pool bar too if that is of interest.

You can't charge anything at Disney to your room, but you can put all of the Swan/Dolphin stuff on there.

Also, be sure to enroll in SPG points (www.spg.com). The preferred guest program seems pretty cool because if they have a room available, you can get it. Not like Hilton Hhonors where they have 2 rooms set aside for rewards.

The only downside to the Swan/Dolphin is the possibility of a convention. My hubby was at one and we lucked out and were at the BC until the convention was over because it was crazy busy at the Swan/Dolphin. (and the BC was very uncrowded) I would not have been happy if I were on vacation and had to deal with that.

We had a couple of room issues but they were taken care of IMMEDIATELY. The service is fantastic. I second all of the posts about the restaurants. Much better than the Disney resorts. Ate at Shula's, BlueZoo and Palio. Plan an adults only meal and put the kids in Camp Dolphin.

Have a great time!! I think you will be happy at the Swan.

I belive the other post listing AAA discounts was for those who booked a AAA travel package. I don't know if the AAA discount at Swan/Dolphin restaurants (and it wasn't all of the restaurants) is available to those NOT on a AAA package.

Went to AAA today and found out that you only get the 20% off swan/dol restaurants when you book package. I am very very sorry for misinforming you all. I was disappointed to also find out that the 2006 swan/dol. AAA packages aren't available yet, I was curious what they would cost. Either way Swan is amazing and I am sure you will LOVE this hotel.
