will adrs be really hard to get

I had the same thought, since we just decided to go 9/22-10/6 a few days ago, but I was able to get everything we wanted over the weekend. We're not doing CRT, and Le Cellier only had before 4:45 or after 7:45 (on 2 different nights), but everything else was wide open (including CM, CP, Boma, Ohana, etc).

If I were you, I'd certainly try to call ASAP, especially since VISA cardholders are booking their free DDP trips as we speak, but I wouldn't worry too much yet.

I booked my ADR's last night...

Had no problem getting....

Spoodles
Hollywood n vine...character lunch...
Garden grill
LeCellier
Jiko
Kona Cafe
Boma
Ohana...

I have all my choices booked (did that several weeks ago) and changed a few this morning when I switched my ressie for free dining.

Here is my thought. This year, they are only offering free dining for about 4 weeks. The last 2 years it has been 6 weeks plus. The TS restaurants are always full, regardless, but especially during this timeframe I think you need to have everything you want in place immediately.

When I called last week I was able to get 2 ressies for LeCellier at a choice of times. Today, the only ones left were real early or real late. I was however able to get Chef Mickeys & CP at any time I wanted, so just depends.

I don't think any DISer will be without the ressie's they want, we are a relentless and dedicated bunch when it comes to eating @ the World during free dining:thumbsup2 :lmao:

I made my ADR's for our Sept trip on sat.

The only ones I had trouble getting were Le Cellier (had to settle for lunch) and Boma (had to take a 4:50pm for dinner...go figure:confused3 ).

If you wait, then yes you will have problems. I remember reading reports last year about people not getting ANYTHING.

We actually encountered this during the '05 free dining. We saw numerous people turned away. It didn't matter if you came at an odd time, right at opening or had a small party. No ADR, no table service seemed to be the mantra.

This is correct..Make your ADR's as soon as you know you will need them. It doesn't matter whether you are paying for the dining plan or not you will be turned away at the better sit down restaurnats without reservations! :wizard:

Yea....I feel out of the loop when it comes to the ADRs...DGF and I were not planning on dining unless we got the free dining...as with a 10 night 11 day trip..it is now saving us over 800 dollars (takes a moment to rejoice)...lol...and so now I have to start on them..I hope I have not waited to long as we are now about 25 days inside of the 180 mark....I will have to get on them as soon as possible, I just know next to nothing about the restaurants, so it might be tough...

Got what we wanted when we did ADR's in June last year, incl Le Cellier, but when we were there we were turned away when we decided we wanted a second night.

Remember as people book for free dining and have to change dates, things will open up, like I will probably be willing to move my trip up a week to get ASMo, so I would have to cancel all my ressies that I currently have. I have Le Cellier twice, so I will be sure to let you all know if I cancel.

Also, ask people what their favorites are, they will tell you. For instance, my must do's are Le Cellier, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern dinner. Also there are dining review sub boards here on the DIS

Booked Free Dining package early this am for Sept 15-23rd and got everything we wanted. Kona Cafe, O'hana, Norway princess Dinner, CP,CM,WCC,H&V Character Breakfast, and Coral Reef. All dinners were open between 5-5:30ish which is what we like with kids. Had to do the Princess dinner around 4:50 and Le Cellier only had 4:20 and 7:45 but we wanted to try Coral Reef so I just skipped even though 4:20 would have been fine. I would go ahead and book why you can get your times.

I booked all of my ADRs already. Finished on Saturday and there was so much open, so I think for the next couple of days you'll be fine, but as it gets closer it'll be harder to get what you want.
