2 adults, dare I say "middle aged"

Love convenience to parks, casual atmosphere, generous food courts. Having conquered BWV and BCV, considering VWL in January. Hoping for feedback...
There are millions of reasons to love the VWL, but these three aren't on my list.
Convenience to parks - the boat service to MK is my favorite "ride" in all of WDW, but it's a slow method of transportation. Especially if the boat is first going to Fort Wilderness. That said, it's so lovely and peaceful!!!! Once you arrive at MK, you can take the monorail to Epcot, so that is easy. Transportation to MGM and AK is by bus, so not any real convenience other than the usual convenience of being able to use WDW transportation.
Casual atmosphere - Well, it depends on what you mean by casual. You can certainly walk anywhere wearing a wet bathing suit, but I wouldn't feel like doing it through the lobby - of course, I probably wouldn't do that in any of the WDW lobbies!!!! The word I would use instead of casul is laid-back. But there's also a "grand" feeling to the resort. Not grand as in stuck-up, but in the sense of majestic. Everything is BIG and ...well, grand!!!!
Generous food courts -In a word, no. If what you are looking for is something that has many windows, each serving a different kind of food, you'll be dissapointed. Roaring Forks should be thought of as more of a quick-service restaurant that a food court. There are good but limited options. We absolutely love it - I think they have the best cheesburgers on the property!! But you have to like what they offer. Poke around and see if you can find a menu from there, so you'll know what I mean.
All of that said, VWL is one of my very favorite vacations - I'll be there this summer!!!!! You should definitely give it a try!!!!
