Hello everyone,

My husband and I are planning on going to Disney World in December and want to stay The Wilderness Lodge. It says rooms are currently unavailable. Is there a chance more rooms will become available as December gets closer or should I keep checking back on the website?

Thank you for your help!

If people cancel, sure. But Wilderness Lodge has half the number of hotel rooms as it used to have after a DVC conversion and is wildly popular for December, so it will be a matter of luck. Disney is not holding rooms, for sure.
Thank you for the information!

Sure there is always a chance so keep checking but as @_auroraborealis_ indicated above the available inventory at the Lodge has been cut by about 1/2 since the south side of the resort has been converted to DVC. The Wilderness lodge started with an original room count of 727 to about 362 normal hotel rooms left after the Cooper Creek DVC conversion.

The lodge is lovey during the holidays and is very popular with guests.

And it was included on the recent bounce back offer.
Ya never know , I’d book elsewhere and keep trying.
Beautiful time of year to visit, great luck to you!!!

We had the same problem booking for November. WL was my top choice, but there was absolutely nothing available for our dates. What about Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Lodge? AKL is beautiful, but there is a pool refurb starting in September. They say it should be done by December, though.

Would you consider a studio at CCV or BRV if available? (they are located at WL). We stayed at CCV last December (it's gorgeous!), but I tried for months to get us in a standard WL room and nothing became available. I would keep checking, but if anything is available at CCV or BRV, I would definitely consider it. Especially if it's just 2 adults, you will actually end up having more space in a studio as you would have a queen and a sofa instead of 2 queens (plus a full-size coffee maker!).

Keep checking. It helps if you can be flexible by a day or two for your dates. We had our heart set on Beach Club for our summer visit, but it was showing no availability for ages. I was checking almost daily, and a room popped up yesterday so I jumped on it.

Try looking for a bunch of single dates back to back to back.... That's the way I had to book an upcoming stay. I found the dates available online as a bunch of singles, called up Disney and then the Agent was able to go to Customer Service to get the stay booked.
