Wilderness Lodge Views

We have stayed ay WL a couple of times. We love it there! We had standard view once -- overlooked the service area if you looked straight down, but since I had requested a higher floor (I was on the sixth) when you looked straight out you saw some of Wishes over the treetops.

Here is a picture of our woods view room:

Looking out you saw the Contemp, and some of Wishes at night.

Looking to the right we could glimpse Bay Lake and tried to see the Electric Water Parade, but we couldn't really see much:

Looking straight down you saw otter pond:

I believe the courtyard view would be best though -- you can see the pool and out beyond it Bay Lake. Someone else posted a picture of their view from a courtyard room. I think that view is nicest.

Here is the view we had last week. We were in Room 5043. We had booked a standard view, but got a surprise upgrade to courtyard!

I have a question. Is a room in the "Bear's Face" considered a courtyard view room?:confused3

We've had a woods view that wasn't too bad. We could see the WLV and if we really strained could catch a glimpse of that particular pool if the wind shifted the trees. We've had a courtyard view which was nice. But my favorite view was overlooking the service entrance. I wasn't too thrilled with it when we checked in but at night we were able to sit on the balcony drinking from our refillable mugs and watch the fireworks at MK. I personally don't think you can really have a bad view because it is, after all, the WL.

I am pretty positive that is considered courtyard. If I am wrong I know that someone will correct me. :)

Yes, "bear face" room s are courtyard views because the balcony overlooks the courtyard and the lake. I have stayed in a "bear face" room (4073 - King bed - before DD!! ;) ), and it was a great room! It was probably our favorite view we have ever had at WL.

Bama Guy...Where in Alabama are you from? I'm near Montgomery.

It's a courtyard view room. We have stayed in the "bears face" about 6 times and as said before it's a great view. There are only about a dozen rooms in the "bears face" and they are only on the 4th and 5th floors.

DisneyAllison when I joined the DisBoards we lived near Anniston. Just recently we moved to Charleston, South Carolina, because of my job, but I'm really missing home.:sad1: :sad2:

I am still torn...heard abt the bear face rooms, but I guess its hit or miss on the 7th floor....
Anyway...auntie...we have a seasonal place in a campgrond in WI...the "weekenders" lOOve to hang Everything...eewww.. we open up tomorrow yeah cant wait, its my "pretend" WL:)
I think I will ask for inner CY, view of Bay Lake, and see what happens. id love to be able to see the lake, even if I have to stand and look out:) The baby will have more playing space.

In Dec we stayed in room 4073 (or 4037 cannot remember) and had a huge front water view, pool view and geyeser view. When we opened the room front door we had a front view of the lobby and the humongous Christmas tree.

We stayed in 5014 (Woods View). We had a view of the castle, the fireworks, the monorail going in/out of the Contemporary, and the boats going back and forth to the MK. There were trees, of course, but we'd never pay the $$ they charge for MK View at other resorts--so having a partial castle view for less money was fine with us! Plus it was very quiet and peaceful, and magical to wake up in the morning and watch everything slowly come to life on the lagoon.

We are also looking at the WL and I have to ask, what is Bear Face? Is that an area of the resort?

The Bear's Face is a group of rooms that are on the 4th and 5th of the main building. The view is the courtyard and Bay Lake and your room opens to the lobby. VERY convenient if you ask me.:thumbsup2

The Bear Face Rooms are the Courtyard View rooms that are also off the main lobby. From the back of the lodge looking back toward the resort you can see the face of a large bear.

I borrowed this photo from blossomz post over on the DVC Forum, Then Granny added one with a Pooh face, over the area.
