Here's my question. I need some help with our decision on where to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. Ashleysmommie, if you read this, I would love your opinion too next time we talk or you can reply here. Anyway, here's our question. We really want to stay at the Wilderness Lodge for our honeymoon coming up in December. What we're not sure of, is which room. Is there a dramatic advantage to staying in the honeymoon suite or the concierge level versus some of the others? What does everyone else recommend? Thanks!!

By no means am I an expert on the WL, but DH and I stayed there on our honeymoon in 2002.
We had booked a standard room, but were upgraded to a great room overlooking the lake. This was great because we could watch the electric water pagent at night.
The WL was my choice because DH is very outdoorsey and he absolutely loved it. It was very romantic taking the launch back and forth to the MK. It was also great to be outside and not really realize we were in FL. We got to take some really nice walks around the resort and down by the lake.
Whatever resort you choose, I'm sure you'll have a magical honeymoon!

Btw, instead of the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom ears, DH and I got the bride and groom pins. These were much less cumbersome than the ears. We got lots of congratulations on our marriage and felt much more comfortable with the pins than we ever would have with the hats.

I stayed there on my last trip and loved it. I booked a "woods" view room and the picture below is the view that I had!! The room was near the elevators, but I still found it pretty quiet. It was a quick walk to the boat dock, as well as to the pool, hot tubs, & main lobby. Just a little further to the buses. There are boats to both the Magic Kingdom (starts 1/2 hour prior to park opening & stops 45 minutes after the park closes) and the other boat goes to the Contemporary (7am to 10pm). I loved this resort and found lots of little quiet places. Also, there is a small balcony on the 5th floor that overlooks the pool & lake. I did not see many people using it and it was pretty quiet out there.

You can see more pictures of the room I had and the view on the link below.

The WL is great. You feel as if you are miles away from anything and yet MK is right there. DW and I spent our Honeymoon there the first year it opened. We had a courtyard room on the first level (one level down from the lobby). It had a king sized bed, large walk in shower (great for honeymooning ;) ) and you could walk out of the balcony (patio) right to the pool. Did not have to go through the lodge to get there. Our room number was 1027. This year we will be back celebrating our 10th year anniversary, just as we did our 8th and 9th.

Terk-1 - What requests did you make to get this room? I've posted this question on the WL FAQ thread, but wanted to ask you. This area where your room was would be perfect, I have a pinned ankle, and try to cut out as many extra steps as I can. Being close to the boat dock, main lobby and pool area would be a big plus for me. Not too worried about the buses, as we are splitting our stay with BWI, and will do those parks while we're there.

Thanks for your help!

i stayed in both concierge and courtyard view.

we stayed courtyard view for our honeymoon and i loved it. the concierge we got a return rate if we came back within a year. and we did. the concierge was great very nice to be able to get drinks and snacks. but the regular room was just as nice we still ordered breakfast in bed and pizza at night from room service and went to roaring forks. and many other restaurant, i loved both rooms but for the price i like the courtyard room and spending more on activities and treats.

happy honeymoon you'll enjoy it.
